Magic Without Tears was a book by Alister Crowley(self-acclaimed magician from the 1920's) which basically told people they could do anything they wanted to do as long as they kept it in a religious context. This included sex, theft and much more.

The text of the book is here:http://www.hermetic.com/crowley/mwt_contents.html
