rub some lemon on your hands

Rub salt on your hands. This will exfoliate the top layer of skin (which the shrimp smell has permeated), and rinse, then just wash with soap and water. This will also work with onion and garlic and other less pleasant smells.

Lemon juice or one of those stainless steel "soap bars" are both good options. Also, in school we would always wash our hands with Edge shaving gel after dissecting things; it's great for gettting weird smells off of your hand.

What works best for me is a little vinegar (make sure you have no cuts!) and then a little lemon juice. A friend swears by Dawn detergent... but I rather smell lemons than detergent. Happy Holidays!

Immediately rub salt into your hands. It will absorb the odor. Then if they are still a little smelly.....rub with a lemon. Rinse.
