Well, they're are several that explicitly ban it (for men at least, leviticus doesn't explicitly ban lesbian relationships) mostly in leviticus. To support it you'd have to take the angle that those laws were later repealed or only applied to the jews at the time. The vision that paul got could do it. In the vision God said what i have made clean let no man call unclean. But from the context theis phrase was reffering to the gentiles being saved. Personnally i don't believe the bible does support this and anything you use will have to be distorted and taken out of context.

You could go to Belief.com and see if anyone there knows of some. That site tends to be very tolerate of the beliefs of others. That said, there are many reasons why homosexuality would be condemned by God. Primary among them it does nothing to promote man's continual existence. Does God condemn it in the Bible out and out? It does say that it is an abomination. However, condemning the act is a lot different than condemning the individual. This, like all other sins, is something between God and the individual. The Bible also says that sins of the flesh are not as great as sins of the souls. So why people spend so much time spinning their wheels and condemning homosexuals is beyond me. Maybe it is just a way for people to point their fingers at another and judge them. I think that loving God means leaving to God what is God's domain. Running around telling folks what they can and can't do along this line is a waste of time and a way to pull the country's attention away from issues that the government can and should attempt to control.

Let's get real. If we were supposed to try to interpret every single scripture as an absolute law set down by God we would be stuck with so many contradictions that it would be ridiculous. People say God says marriage can only exist between one woman and one man however in the Bible some of God's best know prophet had multiple wives. We are also not supposed to kill one another according to the story of Cain and Abel however God gave David the ok to slay the Goliath. I can go on and on but my point is very simple. The Bible is a living document that can be interpreted many different ways by just as many people who choose to read it. It is not fair to quote the Bible as a way to defend a human standard of living or any laws that are produced by human governmental institutions. Nuff said. I'm done.

the concern with the Bible we've immediately is that it quite is translations of translations. evaluate that the old testomony develop into initially written in Hebrew, the recent testomony regularly in Aramaic. Then those variations have been translated into Greek. Then the Greek develop into translated into English by Kings James. with the aid of fact of this there are such extensive translations of the Bible. It gets much greater muddied while the KJV of the Bible is then translated into different languages. The Bible is unquestionably no longer very sparkling on homosexuality and in no way mentions comparable-intercourse marriage. There are Bible verses that truly seem to help comparable-intercourse marriages. evaluate Ruth's relationship with Naomi. it variety of appears like they have a lover-variety relationship. there's a phenomenal e book noted as The Bible Tells Me So: makes use of and Abuses of the Holy Scriptures. It shows how any 2 "ethical" positions could be argued using the Bible as help. It develop into rather enlightening for me.

No, but this reference might help in your report (unless it is purely Biblical). If not, it may still prove interesting reading for you.

It explains how "marriage" is a term coined from Latin. The first "marriages" by name (or at least, they're origin name in Latin) were performed in Pagan Rome - and same sex ceremonies were performed as well as opposite sex ceremonies. Keep in mind: the Bible was translated originally from Arabic and Greek: NOT Latin. The literal translations of "married" in current Bibles are more accurately written as "betrothed." And while "betrothed" and "married" may mean the same things today, it did not back when the Bible was written – the words come from two different languages and thus two different origins and two different practices.

So gays have had marriage all along: the straits are just trying to take it for themselves.

Please tell me you're kidding. There ARE no Bible verses that support gay marriage. God's view of homosexuality is that it is detestible to him and the Bible clearly reflects this. Anyone professing Christianity as their faith needs to show it by their actions. While Christ's sacrificial death opens the way to forgiveness of sins, it DOES NOT guarantee a person salvation just by simply professing to believe in Christ. If a person is unwilling to make the necessary changes to bring their lives into harmony with God's views (which would definitely include leaving homosexual practices behind), they face very serious consequences for their actions. Hebrews 10:26, 27 points out that if a person willfully practices sin after having received accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, but instead they would have only a fearful expectation of judgment. So willfully pursuing a homosexual lifestyle after knowing that God disapproves of it means Christ's sacrifice WILL NOT cover your sins.

I don't know if your question pertains to your own lifestyle choice or if you're just doing research, but if it pertains to you and you want to be a Christian, make the necessary lifestyle changes to reflect it. If you don't, you're actually bringing reproach on God's name by professing to be a Christian.

Romans 1: 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Romans 1: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Romans 1: 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Romans 1: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. Romans 1: 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

The downfall of the Roman Empire came about with downfall on morality. Personally, gay marriage is an evil and part of a downfall on the morality of the USA. Gay marriages, then next, open sex whereever we want. When society loosens it morality, then down the pit we go. So bible does not support gay marriage. Start your own religion and your own bible. In your bible, you can have men and women fornicating with animals as with the gay thing too. lol

"or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers shall inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were; but you have been washed, but you have been sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God." (I Corinthians 9-11)
"But we know that the Law is good if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous man, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and fornicators and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God with which I (Paul) have been entrusted" (I Tomothy 1:8-11)
"For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise they became fools....therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them...for this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is against nature, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error." (Romans 1:21,22,24,26,27)

Speaking as a Born-Again Christian who is a seminary graduate, any verses used would be quoted out of context, similar to what Peter says people did in the early church with Paul's epistles (2 Peter 2:16).
