The guy should pay for the first several dates at least.
after that she may pick up tip here and there but he should still pay most.
If she sets up and plans the date then it is her treat and she should pay for everything and you should accept it graciously.

It depends. Some girls feel weird about a guy paying. When I first started dating a guy, I didn't want him paying. I told him to pay for his own stuff and I would pay for mine. So, I guess it just depends on the girl. I've also went on dates where we took turns paying. That way it didn't make me feel like a leech or something. I'm weird though ;-)
Now if you're dating a jobless girl, well, then you'd better pay!

No man because you won't get any sugar later on. What you do is split the cost without saying it so. For example, lets say you are going to the movies with her. While waiting in line or when they are about 2 people in front of you, you simple tell her to pay for this movie and you WILL get her anything that she likes from the inside of the cinema. Much like in a club, tell her to get the cover charges and you get the alcohol inside, you control the amount of money and alcohol. NOW, is she talks back out to you of being cheap, then you know you have nothing but gold digging sluty. Buy her tickets for the cinema or get her dinner but excuse your self for the bathroom when the check or the movie starts and leave her cunty asse behind. Happy Holidays.

It's generally accepted that the guy should pay.
I think whoever asked the other out on the date should pay unless other arrangements are made or discussed.
The important thing is not to put someone on the spot about it. Talk before you go out if it's an issue. Bring it up tactfully if she seems sensitive.

well all gurlz are weird and i think for the first couple pf dates the guy should pay but at least the gurl could offer to help. after a while the gurl should pay at least for a couple of times like once every 10 times or something. a gurl shouldnt be with a guy because he pays for everything. she should love him and want to be with him cuz of that alone. if you have a golddigger... i am sorrie for you hun... You're supposed to decide that ahead of time.
The guy usually pays, but sometimes (in different cases) they split the bill.
The girl never pays for the whole bill unless she announces that she's paying days before the date.

I would offer to pay, esp on the first date, but if I end up having to pay my part then, that's the end of story- will never see him again.

1st date, absolutely not, only the guy should pay (most insist on doing so anyway)
2nd date and on, if she's independent enough, split it
birthdays, special occasions, etc. - pay for her, unless it's your birthday or she wants to treat you, let her
honestly though, even if you don't have that much money, at least offer to pay. let her feel important when she refuses. and be careful of users, I hate those chicks.

It depends on who asked who out. If the guy asked the girl out the guy should have to pay all, if the girl asked guy out the girl should to pay all.
