I'm a nurse. It's hard to tell without looking at them. But I would guess and say that to me it sounds like a lack of oxygen somewhere in your body, this isn't good. How do you feel otherwise? I would call the on call doctor and give the symptom to him and see what he thinks of it. He might say just schedule an appointment. I would watch yourself. If you are showing signs of shortness of breath or if you feel dizzy or even numbness anywhere, go to the ER, you are then in trouble. I hope this is useful to you. If you have had this for a while, then still call the on call MD and tell him but watch the warning signs. Take care.

if your fingernails are turning blue (cynosis) that means you arent getting enough oxygen and your blood isnt circulating properly. if you notice your lips or your gums starting to turn blue as well you should really go to the ER. i have heart problems so i always have to check my fingernails and gums and i was always told that wasnt a good sign. i would just go get it checked out to be sure nothing is really wrong.

i've got faith that's referred to as "cyanosis". Taber's scientific dictionary says: a blue, gray, slate, or darkish pink discoloration of the floor or mucous membrans brought about by utilising deoxygenated or decreased hemoglobin inthe blood. (inadequate oxygenation of the bloodstream) extra especially: peripheral cyanosis - a bluish discoloration of the digits. affected person care could desire to incorporate that the affected person's considered necessary signs and indications, oxygen saturation, blood gases, and psychological status are monitored heavily.

It sounds like bruising. If it is under all of your fingernails, I would suggest going to the doctor though.

If you press on your nail and the end of your finger and nail stayes blue, you could have circulation problems. That is what your doctor/nurse is looking for. Godloveya.

I'd have to see it in person, but it could be nothing, or something very serious.....
If any other symptom occurs, regardless of how minor it may seem to you, get to an ER...

you didn't mention whether or not you got out of breath easily. It could be a problem with your lungs.
