Not citrus. But, beware of fresh pineapple. It contains an enzyme that some people are allergic to. It can be hazardous if you don't know. However, canned pineapple has been heat treated and the enzyme is destroyed by the heat, making it safe even for those who are allergic.

A pineapple is considered a tropical fruit, and is not a citrus fruit. It is acidic it also contains digestive enzymes. Try a little.

Huh? I seriously thought it was. It's not? I guess I always thought it was because of the acid in it. I get canker sores from citrus, and pineapple does it, too. So I guess it would be more proper to say I get them from acid, not citrus? Hey--thanks for the lesson. I seriously never knew...

Pineapple is not a citrus fruit, but it is VERY high in acid. To be safe, you should avoid it unless cleared by your doctor.

It doesn't grow on a tree, it grows in the ground like a potato. However, they are acidic so you may want to consult with your doctor.
