Hobbies are good. Family and friends. If you have access to a Gym with indoor tennis courts, that is good. Get out and walk around atleast. The thing is do not sit around and let it get to you. Also, their are those sun lamps. They are supposed to give out ultraviolet rays which perk you up.
In general do something that you enjoy. Stay away from drugs including alcohol, they are depressents and will just bring you down.

First, don't ever "have a drink" like the previous answer indicated. This will only worsen the effects of depression. If you've been down this road before, then start getting busy. Get a hobby, travel, see relatives, make new friends. If this isn't working, find a therapist to help out with the problem. Good Luck

I am the same way. It's almost like it's something in me making me naturally depressed. It is really hard to get out of. But I have learned to deal with it by seeing a therapist (under the radar) and getting involved in stuff that makes me feel good and is healthy. I took up dance classes and I go ice skating by myself or with a close friend. It's whatever will distract you from the thoughts that creep in your head. If you try hard to surround yourself with positive stuff, even if you are scared it won't work, at least try. I suck at ice skating, but I laughed so hard that day that not once did sour things come into my head. So try a hobby. Or go volunteer at a shelter. When you see how bad it is for other people, sometimes it makes u see how lucky you are not to be on drugs or homeless or HIV positive. Embrace your life and just jump into it. I hope I make sense. God Bless.

What alot of people get in the winter is called SAD syndrome. It stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder. That means people need the sunlight and when the people don't see the sun or get sunlight they can tell and they get SAD. Some people get sunlights and they have special light bulbs you can buy for your house that work. I bought those light bulbs for my dad and they really worked. Some people even have to go and get medication fopr depression.

1) Eat a lot of ice cream with some chocolate syrup.
2) Watch a movie. Preferably one that doesn't suck.
3) Watch a comedy show.
4) Repeat step 3.
If you follow these steps then you'll be fine.

SOme people who have winter blues have a condition where a lack of sun causes low mood swings. A Tanning bed would help that.

GET OUT AND GET SOME FRESH AIR. GO TO THE STORE, DON'T SIT AROUND THE HOUSE. THINK OF ALL OF THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE AND OTHERS WHO HAVE SO MUCH LESS, WITH HEALTH AND MONEY. I'VE BEEN THERE TOO. YOU CAN ALWAYS GO TO THE DR. AND GET SOME MEDS. LAST YEAR WE PUT IN THE SUMMER LIGHT BULBS, REALLY HELPED ME OUT IN LESS THAN 2 DAYS I WAS BETTER.

Find some silly or stupid shows on TV...get in the mood and have a good laugh.
Call some friends.
Remind yourself that nothing stays the same forever....and you'll get past this period in your life.
