I actaully do shut it and the top one too, but it's about convenience. The toilet is used most often to P
not the other. You want it already down since you sit down to P, it makes more sense to you.
We stand up, we want it up for convenience as well.
its an age old battle and neither is wrong or right, we each have a valid reason.
the other bathroom battle is paper over the top or under.
I like over.

My wife said commented that I never leave the seat up, nor the lid. During a flush, vaporized water droplets containing all sorts of bacteria, enter the air and land on toothbrushes, towels, countertops. It is just disgusting to imagine. I can't stand people that leave the lid up. Aside from a modern/pop art exhibit, a toilet should always be closed except when in use.
I have been on the side of the argument that women are lazy. It only takes a slight touch and let gravity do the rest, to let the seat down.

I hate to answer a question with a question, but why is down the toilet seats natural position? I'll tell you that it gets annoying to have to lift the seat every time I need to go. Why do women always leave the seat down? By the way, lifting the seat prevents urine from getting on the seat, so if you think about it, lifting the seat is a matter of courtesy. Let's agree to disagree. Men or women should enter the bathroom, adjust the seat to the preferred position and do their business.

Guys don`t usually need to put the seat down and what are you doing in the guys toilet anyway, get out before someone sees you.

May I add that not all of them do, some of them put down the toilet seat and the cover. Don't run into a dark bathroom in a hurry and sit down!

I like it better when they forget to put it down than when they forget to lift it up! At least there is no pee drops on the seat then!

we do not forget, we do it because it is a retaliation for you taking over the medicine cabinent with all of your hairbrushes and creams and various junk that we do not understand...
i have shaving cream, a razor and a stick of deodorant...is it too much to ask to get it into the bathroom cabinent... it takes 6 inches of space....
when i get my corner of the bathroom cabinent back i will begin putting the seat down.. untill then it is cold ceramic and a wet a** for you.

It fascinates me that this is MAN's fault. You have a brain and two eyes, dont you? try using them, instead of falling butt first into the toilet.
