I put mine in an oven dish with a small amount of water about 4 tablespoons and about a table spoon of oil cover with foil and cook on gas mark 6 for about 1 1/2 hours keep checking it every half hour and uncover for the last 30 mins if you like it well done it may need longer test with a skewer if blood runs out it is rare good luck it took me ages to perfect it i'm not saying mine is perfect now but my family love it

An easy way that tastes really good is a half a pack of dry onion soup mix (for your size roast) a tablespoon or two of oil and slow bake for a couple of hours in the oven at about gasmark 4. It always comes out nice and tender when I cook it this way. Works great in the crockpot like this too on slow cook all day.

20 minutes per 500g plus 20 minutes extra at the end. 180%c
or gas mk 5 in the centre of a pre-heated oven. If you don't like it pink in the centre then cover with foil and leave in for an extra 20 minutes.
If it's brisket then slow cook it in a tray covered with foil with a little water that you can use later for a gravy stock. Gas Mk 3 or 160%c for approx 1hr 15 mins.

you would be better off cutting it in half and make two steaks out of it,give them a good beating with a tenderizer . and grill them. by the time you cook it like a roast you will not have any thing left in the pan it would have shrunk so much
