I have 3 bowls of water for him, in various places, and he takes a bath in each one, which leaves him no drinking water. I do not know what to do.

My kitty does the same thing! He will spill his water all over the kitchen floor and it drives me nuts. I bought a plastic dishwashing tray thing... forget what it's called? Every other day or so I put it in the bathroom with a towel underneath it and some water in the bottom for him to play in. He pretty much just stands in it and paws at the water. Weird kitties! I also keep water in the bathroom sink because he's suddenly dying of thirst every time I'm washing my hands or brushing my teeth. I'll just rinse the soapy water down and plug and fill it with some fresh water for him. Ahhh yes, and heaven forbid if we leave the toilet seat open! He loves to play in the toilet, although he's never dropped anything in there. Gotta love em! Oh and then there's my ferret (who also has a strange obsession with drinking out of the bathroom sink) who's main pleasure in life is stealing dirty diapers from the garbage can and hiding them throughout the house. Ahhhh fun! But yeah, I thought cats were supposed to be afraid of water right?

You don't need to worry. When he takes his bath, and is dripping wet, what does he do? He licks all the water off!!! He's drinking plenty, but if you are still stressed out, you can mix a little water with his food. Good luck to you!!!

There are cat breeds that do like water and he may have some of that in him. Some cats prefer to take their water by dipping their paws and licking them, though I am not sure why. He is probably getting the water he needs. You may want to fill up a bathroom sink with water so he has extra and it limits the areas he is making a mess in. I actually had a cat that bowed her right bow under her body whenever she drank!

OMG!!!
Fill up the tub and see if he'll go swimming!
That's so great!
To answer your question, he won't go thirsty. He will either drink from the bowls before taking a dip, or find a glass of water to poach.
There are kitty drinking foutains you can get. Or one of those table top foutains. That way you can be sure there is water available, but no real pool for him to get excited about.
Cheers.

If you want to stop this behaviour, get rid of the bowls and put the toilet lid down. Then, leave a faucet running in the kitchen or bathroom for him to drink from. He may be trying to tell you he wants fresh water, not something that has been sitting in a bowl for some period of time.

This is a great method to use when you need to leave your cat alone for 3 or 4 days (with ample dry food and plenty of kiity litter (or one of the self-cleaning cat boxes).

that's funny, cats usually hate water, I know mine does. I'm not sure how you would fix that problem

I think it is neat. A super clean pussy cat. Nothing wrong with that. Get him bigger bowls.. Can't hurt. Whatever it takes to make him happy.!!

My cat does the same thing. I think they do it just because it's easier than licking themselves. It is pretty cute, but don't worry about it. You should video tape him, see if he does something silly.
