I used to chat with guys and we would email and a little and talk on the phone and usually meet in one or two weeks after we got to know a little about each other. Now I seem to be getting guys that just drag on and never really say anything but hi how are you, and then they disappear and show up a month later and we never get past small talk whereas the others want to meet the minute we trade one email. I like to get to know a person about a week before meeting the first time but I either get the ongoing emailer which I never get to really know or some guy rushing into wanting to meet and not really answering my questions. I don't lilke either type as the first wastes my time and the other one's anxiousness is a turnoff. What happened to the normal people who want to trade a few questions to get to know if it is worth meeting?

I hear you. I've run into both types as well. I think it helps to be up front early on. Tell them you'd like to spend a bit of time (week or two) getting to know them before meeting. Ask questions and if you don't get answers either stop communicating with them or call them on their nonesense! I think it's easy for people who just want to waste time to get on the internet and put themselves out there. Some are probably simply afraid moving beyond small talk - others probably don't have the social skill. Don't let it discourage you...just be mindful of not letting people waste your time!

it would be easier meeting people in the mall, at the clubs or just out and about. You might just be getting the wrong idea, some people just dont have time to go on the computer often or are just to shy to start the conversation or stream of emails. The internet is a scary place to meet people, so it doesnt surprise me that some want to keep it at just Hellos
