I have lived with CD since I was 18...now 43. You can lead a normal life. I get a colonoscopy more often than most because it increases your risk of colon cancer. Stress definitely aggravates it, diet can certainly help...if you have been diagnosed with it, talk to your doctor about what foods to avoid. There is a lot of info on the internet as well as support groups. Knowledge is power!

I am no expert, nor do I have the disease. But I do know 3 people with it. One friend developed it in college, almost 20 years ago. She is currently living in upstate NY with her husband and 3 healthy children. ANother has had it for 20+ years and just recently got her BA. And is quite healthy. And the last person is a friends mother who has had the disease for almost 35 years. The disease affects her a little more than the others. I know nothing else about the disease, what it does or anything. But I wanted you to know of a few people who have had it for awhile and are still living happy productive lives.
