also...Is there a way to make an icon on the desktop like IE7 instead of a shortcut, because that would be a nice feature to add, then I could hide the IE7 one.

1. Can I have an ICON (not a SHORTCUT) on the desktop for Firefox?

2. Can you right-click on say the page, http://www.yahoo.com and save that to DESKTOP.
On the page, not a link.

The best way I can find is to save a bookmark and drag it to the desktop. I would prefer a direct savetodesktop feature. The other saveas options seem to save the entire contents or as text.

Anyway, pub now.

You can right click a link and choose save link as and save to desktop.

Alternatively you can drag the link on to the desktop. If firefox is maximised drag the link down to the bar at the bottom of the screen and it will minimise allowing you to place it on the desktop.

If you right click the shortcut and choose select icon you can choose a different icon

Yes you can do that, when you right-click any where on the page, you will have a popup menu which give you many option, then you can click : Save Page As...then you can save to anywhere you want, not only on the desktop, in this case you save to desktop folder, and you will have an icon for the page you save on your desktop

If you right-click on a link, choose "Save Link As" and save it to your desktop. When saved, the icon is the Mozilla logo. You can rename the shortcut by clicking twice on the name.

yes you can!
you can save the page as when you right click or you can drag the link to your desktop and have the short cut there.

i'm pretty sure you can change the icon you need to click on your icon (in start menu), go to change computer theme, then go to the desktop tag
and you can go from there for changing the icon.

hope that helped, i wasn't sure what you were talking about for the second part.
sorry :(

Mozilla Firefox is one of the world's most popular web browsers and, to me, it's the best.
It's surely the leader program of its type
