Honestly, Iraq Veterans just want to return to normal life.

Best thing we can do as a country is to provide them with social benefits like the GI Bill, VA loans, and other things that will make them succeed in life.

If you see a Soldiers or Marine thank them for their service. Say hi to them when they walk down the street, don't look away or stare at them like they are deformed.

Treat them as normal people.

And please don't say we are losing the war.

That really annoys me, because unless you've been there, you have no idea if we are losing or winning. You are just monday morning quarterbacking.

When my husband returned home from Iraq, we were stationed in Germany. He had 1 week of "reintergration" with classes that i also could attend, telling what to look for like as far as post tramatic stress disorder and things of that sort, but other then a few classes, basically he just had to go in to the Dr's or whatever if he had a problem. Luckily he never did, but i watched so many men return from Iraq, feel as though they had no support system, a few went on to get kicked out of the military for various reasons. I think it is tough to give each individual the attention they really need. I think they could do better, but i don't know what can be done to help our troops once they are home.

No they are not. In addition, our current retired veterans are being cheated by the government. They pay into social security during their ectire service time. Then their retirment is reduced by the amount of SS they receive. If the private companies did this, people would be outraged, but it is ok for the government to screw its veterans who put their life on the line for it.

I will say this. When we got back, they did do alot for us, but, on the other hand, I am still messed up from a surgery from a military hospital. Now, would it have happened in a civilian hospital? Who knows, but, it did happen. Its not that bad, its just my hand, looks worse than it is, but why do we pay taxes to pay our own salaries. That is a far bigger injustice if you ask me.
