There is a strong resemblance between Christianity and Islam, when looking at the religions in contrast with other religions in the world. From looking at the other answers given in response to this query I believe some history is necessary to fully explain. Judaism was one of the first monotheistic religions to emerge in the Middle East and Africa. Most of the Hebrew Scriptures can be seen (from a Christian’s perspective) as the “Old Testament”; after the life of Christ, many people who would otherwise be Jewish, regarded Jesus as the messiah, their savior, etc. And Christianity was born- and the bulk of his teachings are contained in the “New Testament”.
Of course, not all people believed he was the messiah. A few hundred years later, Mohammed became a messenger of God, and those who believed him to be the true messiah as promised in the “Old Testament”. And Islam was born. The bulk of Mohammed’s Teachings are found in the Koran.
So- to sum it up, all three desert traditions are extensions of a single monotheistic faith. Each religion simply views certain individuals as the True Messiah, or not. For those not part of these traditions the three are very similar, in that they believe in a single supreme Creator God, who will or has sent a messiah, to ‘save’ the people from eternity in ‘hell’ with the ‘devil’. The use of scripture as the word or teachings of God is also common through the three desert traditions. Of course, these faiths have since spread the world over, and I only refer to them as desert traditions because that is where they were born.
I hope this answer helps. :)

Certainly. All the religions borrow from each other. For example Christianity and Islam and (Judaism for that matter) all worship the same god. They all have a version of the Golden Rule which is the most important principle.

Both are monothesitic, Abrahamaic religions.
Muslims believe in Adam, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Solomon, David, and Jesus too.
Muslims beleive that Jesus received revelations, Gospels, from God.

Both worship God. Muslims do not worship Jesus, but they do regard him as a true Prophet.
They agree on common morals. For example, both stress the importance of praying, giving charity, honesty in business, and leading a life focused on God instead of on material wealth.
The Qur'an tells many of the same stories that you find in the Bible, such as the story of Joseph going down to Egypt.
Both believe in heaven and hell.
Both believe there will be a final judgment.

No There is not any resemblance and to correct the ignorant daliaadel, who shows her ignorance even towards her own religion...
1. They DO NOT come from the same God. Allah is the moon god chosen from over 200+ pagan gods that were worshiped in mecca.
2. They were NOT both delivered to people by great prophets. Mohamed was an idiot and a pedophile, had hallucinogenic fits insanity just to name a few.
3. They are NOT both for peace, tolerance, mercy, justice, love, etc. Islam is conversion by the sword, the Law of the Sword. Simple observations... how many Christians blew up the world trade towers? They fight Jihad to bring about Islam by any means. (koran)The "Religion of Truth" (Islam) must prevail, by force if necessary, over all other religions. 9:33
4. They are both against the killing of the innocent, lying, stealing, adultery and all the sin... Totally wrong. Mohamed Killed the innocent in many invasions, lying is allowed if you are furthering Islam and Jihad. Adultery is only for the woman, men can have as many women as he desires. OK.. stealing is a crime, but only against a fellow Muslim, it is OK against non Muslims.
5. They both believe in the after life, heaven and hell. Yes, but I am sorry to say that they (muslims) will be sent to Hell.
Here is what God's Word says...
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
In this Jesus is speaking of himself, it is not mohamed.
Here is what their own Koran states... Note the lack of peace, love and joy.
"Those (Christians and Jews) are they whom Allah hath cursed." 4:52
Don't take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them. 5:51
Christians are wrong about the Trinity. For that they will have a painful doom. 5:73
Fight against Christians and Jews "until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low." 9:29
Christians and Jews are perverse. Allah himself fights against them. 9:30
The "Religion of Truth" (Islam) must prevail, by force if necessary, over all other religions. 9:33

We both worship the same God.
We both believe that: killing, stealing, adultery, lying, cheating, suicide...are sins.
We both are ordered to: pray, be kind, give charity, love they neighbor, forgive trespassers (Jesus said: turn the other cheek while Quran says: leave it to God to punish them, if you cannot forgive them), never envy others for what they have, be thankful to God for His Mercies…
