It's not a new style... It's a style that was popular on the underground level... and has now surfaced into the MTV crowd.... I don't think it has a name or it didn't years ago when it originally became a thing ... I don't know what people might call it now... But it's also starting to reach the end of it's popularity ... like the Motorola razor or worse yet the trend with skinny jeans ( where it was originally a "scene" thing) and now everyone from your 10 year old to Lindsay lohan wears them .... One of those things where it becomes a trend and once the teeny bopper crowd starts to dig it and it's just not the cool anymore... it actually becomes pretty lame at that point...

It's called shadowing. It looks ugly or skanky on most because they use too extreme of shades or use a cheap home job. If done professionally in less extreme hues, it can look OK.

I agree with the others who state that this is not a new style. Debbie Harry (Blondie) was doing it in the 70s.

it may take many months for peroxide to take any effect ndit could critically dry out your hair. the only thank you to do away with or dye over black hair is to bleach it. that's oftentimes completed via making a cleansing soap cap. that's once you combine the bowder hair bleach with developer and dilute it with a good quantity of shampoo. word it to the black section and watch very heavily because it lightens as close as achievable to the colour of your roots. then you certainly will could dye over all your hair interior the colour you go with for. careful!

That would be a blond that at one time dyed her hair black and now it's just growing out.

Great pic!
