I've played St Andrews and while it is a wonderful test of golf and I love the course, for pure beauty, it's kind of down on the list. It's scruffy, pretty flat, has no trees and a joy to play.

But for beauty, the Augusta National when the Masters is held is tops for me. To be honest, I think the course is tricked up a bit but of course as a mere mortal, I shall never get the chance to play it, but when the azalias are in bloom and the riot of color of the southern springtime with dogwoods and apple and cherry blossoms bursting forth, it is a gem to look at.

As a footnote, I've been keeping my eye on this question and noting a few of the answers and will try to play some of them, if I can. Thanks all and a good question Val. Lots of fun.

Hi.
Grand Centre golf club, in Cold Lake, Alberta Canada.
That is for me anyways.
It is all relative to where your home course is and how well you play there, and where else you've played.
Go out play as many different courses as you can, then you'll start to get a different idea of what you your own minds eye finds desirable in a golf course.

Pebble Beach, CA. Magnificent beauty of cliffs overlooking waves crashing from the Pacific below. Everything is clear and crisp, colors very vivid.

Second would be Augusta National. Looks like a peice of Heaven.

i'd would desire to declare, no longer being a great fan of hyperlinks courses, Augusta and Pebble sea coast. Pebble is sweet alongside the sea coast and seems over waves crashing on rocks and is in all risk the area i decide directly to play the main. Augusta is diverse. Augusta brings the woods and foliage into play extra beneficial than pebble. Any golfer is in basic terms aw struck through the plush green-ness of Augusta.

Pebble Beach is beautiful but nothing can compare to Augusta National in May for the Masters Tournament. Everything is so neatly manicured, from the fairways, to the greens, to the azaleas, to the grass around Ray's Creek. It's a slice of heaven! If you ever get the chance to go, you must! And if you can't, please take in it's beauty on television when they play the Masters...you won't be disappointed!
