What would you do if your employer made you listen to the same crappy song every 20 minutes for 8 hours a day, 5 days per week for 8 weeks? The company I work for is doing just that. They wrote a holiday song and have been playing it exactly every 20 minutes (we timed it) since the first of November. Should that be considered a form of torture?

Well the Holidays are almost over with! Thank the Good lord you made it this far without going crazy! Yep I'd say it was a form of torture alright but there is nothing you can do about. You have yourself a very Merry Christmas now ya here?

Not a form of torture; they can play anything they want to. However it's incredibly annoying to the employees. Have you tried talking to your boss about it? Maybe a compromise can be reached. When I worked for a grocery company, they played the same Christmas songs constantly. It was incredibly obnoxious, but we just had to grit our teeth and deal with it until December 26th.

It sure is cruel and unusual - - punishment, maybe not. Get everyone you can together in the store and sing it back at them. Seriously, the way you tell it makes me laugh but it really sounds dreadful. Yuck!

That is wierd. If it is affecting your work productivity, go to management about the issue. The holidays are almost over, but I would also invest in ear plugs.

You should get together with the other employees and make up your own words for the song. That might make it more fun.
