Why Won't my Sound Work for my DVD player?

I just installed Nero and now I can watch DVDs on my computer. It works fine except the sound does not work, on any DVD. I have tried both Real Player and Windows Media Player but it just wont work. Any ideas as to why not?

Have you checked the volume control settings? Not the main one, where you click on the speaker on the toolbar -- the other one that you DOUBLE click on the speaker (or do a left click and Open Volume Control). I have programs that will turn those settings down and not restore them when I leave, so I have to go in and re-adjust the Wave and CD Audio controls to hear things with different programs.
