My video camera says safegaurd mode. it keeps shutting off!?

I have a JVC mini dv video camera. when i turn it on it says "safeguard mode E04" and then shuts down. THe manual said to take out the battery and wait a few minutes and retry. i did that and it keeps shutting down. HELP i need to use it tommororw!

Try taking out the tape. Then go into the restroom at your place and turn on the heater. Leave the camera in there with the tape door open, with the bathroom door closed for about an hour.

After that, try a fresh tape and see if it works.

Sometimes the tape will condensate and you will not know about it.
