I agree. Pancreatic cancer is nasty and has often has a very poor prognosis but malignant melanoma is up there as well as a number of other rare but very agressive malignancies. In practice cancers that are occult with few symptoms and are therefore diagnosed at a late stage tend to have worse prognoses.

Malignant Cancers with the poorest prognosis is as follows:
Liver Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Pancreactic Cancer, and Ovarian Cancer. Most cancers if diagnosed early on and are a Stage 1 or Stage2 have a good prognosis. The first three cancers mentioned are fast growing cancers that metastasize rapidly and cannot be surgically removed due to the anatomy.

I think it depends on the amount of tumors and where they are located, whether they are resectable or not and whether they respond to chemo. I agree that there are some that are more aggressive and thus harder to treat which of course means a poor prognosis but at the same time I think the first mentioned reasons also play a factor.

Im sorry I dont have the name for it, but my husbands grandma died of a totally incureable cancer........It was a heart tumor, and it moves VERY quickly into other places of the body....in this case, it moved to her brain. The problem with the cancer is it sticks to the lining of the heart, and travels fast. If you want more, I can find out......Ill just ask!

Pancreatic cancer because it's always found so late, mesothelioma (asbestos cancer of the pleura of the lungs, peritoneum, or pericardium), because there's no long-term effective treatment. Even caught early, treatments can only buy you a bit of extra time.
