That would mean that everyone would lose their capacity for self deception and I think that is impossible!

It would be almost indistinguishable from the way it looks now, except for some specific activities that would cease to exist; There would be no Northern Ireland conflict (and probably no Northern Ireland); There would be no Jews, Gentiles or Israel, so no-one there would have anything to fight about. And there would be no "Middle East Crisis" because neither the Muslims nor the Christians nor the Jews would be so convinced they were right.
Oh, and it would probably be a whole lot more crowded because the war dead from religious wars (ie most wars) would still be here...

The world as it is now has 'a god.' But he is not the Almighty God.
The bible refers;
"The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one..." (1 John 5:19)
"The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers..." (1 Corinthians 4:4)
In Revelations 12, Satan and his minions have been cast down to the earth...Heaven has been cleansed but woe to the earth, for he has come down knowing he has a short period of time and he wants as much people as he can to bring to destruction.
The world reflects the qualities of Satan, independent from God, disrespectful, cruel.

Better in some places, worse in others. There would still be other religions that don't revolve around God/a deity.
Edit: This is referring to the idea of God, not the actual existence.

"What can be accomplished by a few principles is not effected by many. But it seems that everything we see in the world can be accounted for by other principles, supposing God did not exist. For all natural things can be reduced to one principle, which is nature, and all voluntary things can be reduced to one principle, which is human reason, or will. Therefore there is no need to suppose God's existence." St. Thomas Aquinas
If a Catholic father can see it, everyone should be able to.

somewhat worse than now....
most of the world is without God now.....
of their own doing, I might add.
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us that are saved it is the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:18
