Very much so, you are very much welcome to go there. You may want to check the Philippine Immigration website for more information (http://www.tourism.gov.ph/trip_planner/travel_essentials.asp#entry) as there are some limitation/restrictions for nationals of some countries to which the Philippines has no diplomatic relations. If you are a U.S. citizen, all you need is a valid passport. Having a Filipno spouse would be a better advantage for your venture in the Philippines.

Good luck and welcome to the Philippines.

You will have to go through a process similar to getting a Green Card in the US. Your Filipino spouse will have to sponsor you.

The Philippine embassy in Washington, DC or any of the Philippine consulates scattered around the USA can give you all the information and start the process for you once you are married.

It's not the picnic you might think to live over there.

yes you can do that ,,, but you hard better think long and hard about it. you must apply for citizenship there ,,, make sure that you maintain a dual citizenship between usa.... and phillippines... you must be very carefull,, as americans are targets for terriost to, kidnap... makes no difference if you live there... luzon island is one of the better places to live.
i do a lot of work in the phillippines,, since 1986.... and there are places there that i have to take security...
this country is beautifull, and so are the people there...
under no circumstance do you try to fool anyone,,, you will be dealt with harsley,,, also consider medical care....
good luck

You can stay there for as long as you like but do keep in mind that if you are a U.S. citizen there will a tax you pay when coming back. If you do decide to stay in the Phillipines you would have to apply for citizenship in that country! Good luck!!
