For some reason all of my icons and start menu has disaappeared. I can not right click on the screen to do anything. I have no idea what happened. I can still use my computer by pulling up programs using ctrl + alt + del and clicking new task. I had turned the volume off on my computer prior to all this happening and I get turn it back on because the bar on the bottom is missing also. If someone can tell me how to turn the volume on a different way that would help also...

Wow you really changed things up, uh? I would do a system restore to when you know it was working like you want it to.
Start>all programs>accessories>system tools> System Restore. Pick a date in bold.

Lay mouse on edge of where you task bar was before. When you get a two headed arrow, drag it up and out.
