Can you prove that you exist? Yes, of course you can. You merely use your senses to determine that you can see, hear, feel, smell, taste and you have emotions as well. All of this is a part of your existence. But this is not how we perceive God in Islam. We can look to the things that He has created and the way that He cares for things and sustains us, to know that there is no doubt of His existence.

Think about this the next time that you are looking up at the moon or the stars on a clear night; could you drop a drinking glass on the sidewalk and expect that it would hit the ground and on impact it would not shatter, but it would divide up into little small drinking glasses, with iced tea in them? Of course not.

And then consider if a tornado came through a junkyard and tore through the old cars; would it leave behind a nice new Mercedes with the engine running and no parts left around? Naturally not.

Can a fast food restaurant operate itself without any people there? That's crazy for anyone to even think about.

After considering all of the above, how could we look to the universe above us through a telescope or observe the molecules in a microscope and then think that all of this came about as a result of a "big bang" or some "accident?"

this is almost a rediculous question since you seem to have answred it yourself but whatever.. the big bang is a scientific theory. so is evolution, etc. i know many christians who believe in these scientific theories as well. just because you believe science had a large part in creating the universe does not mean you dont believe in god. my best friend believes in both - she percieves the christian bible as a narrative and metaphor for something larger. so even though she believes god created the earth - whos to say that he didnt create the big bang?! ignorant assumption really...
also if you are a truly religious individual why would you need to prove there was a god? religion is based on faith yet many like you ponder over ways to argue over whether or not your own god exists! this is my problem with religious people. im christian but not very religious. if your so against others proving god doesnt exist -- why sit there conjuring up a comeback to support your beliefs? living contradiction is what most religious fools are..
in the end we will all find the answer...but to sit here and provide arguments for gods existence is pointless because everyone believes in something different. you need to comprehend that while you are entitled to your faith..in a matter of seconds you could die and discover everything you've been taught was a lie.

You are pretty thoroughly confused about evolution, and have really done nothing besides make a fool of yourself here. Tornadoes in junkyards and glasses dropping have nothing whatsoever to do with scientific theories of how we got here (that is, with evolution and abiogenesis). You simply listened to creationist propaganda, and then repeated it yourself. Dishonesty of this sort is morally wrong.

Now, you could respond to your mistake in an honest, respectable way. There's two things you could do. First, you could stop arguing about this kind of thing at all, since you don't know anything about it. That would be a respectable thing for you to do. Alternatively, you could make the effort to learn something about it by taking coursework in the sciences until you really understood what was so thoroughly wrong with your last paragraph, and then come back and talk about your new-found understanding.

I strongly suspect though that you'll do neither, and instead keep repeating your mistake. Be aware that doing so doesn't do you or your faith any good.

I am here a live today. I have been through a lot. I have been through major surgery when the odds were against me. God sent His Son to die for OUR sins. Would your best friend do that for you.

I could of die, been paralyzed, on a breathing machine, would died if I did not have the surgery. One slip on the ice I could of been dead. I was loosing my strength, in my arm on my right side I was in extreme pain. I prayed to die, but the Holy Spirit and God was there holding me close. Though I could not see him or touch him I knew he was with me. I had a tumor at the base of my brain on my spinal cord. It was not cancer, but it can grow back and it has started, so I just pray and rely on the strength God gives me. I came out of surgery just fine, no problems. I had all feeling back in my arm and hands and fingers.
So tell me there is no GOD, I will say that there is. God gave the Dr steady hands and did not make any wrong moves. I did not die. I came out of surgery with NO problems. I even asked for a Steak and Coke in the recovery room.

1st example - confuses the laws within a gravity well acting on glass with the laws operating during the initial expansion of the universe.
2nd example - the comparison is irrelevant due to time scale differences.
3rd example- can a man made construct operate without man present? obviously not, but when used as an anaolgy for God and "creation" it simply begs the question (making it fallacious).

Enjoy your sense of wonder at everything, just don't let that pass as evidence for anything other than your own character.

Yea, but "god" must have had help to create a whole universe, right? Think about it. How can one being create a universe and ALL the things living on it??? I'm sick of the whole concept that there is a god because there just CAN'T be! NO EVIDENCE! Ya'll are just going by what some precher says off a piece of paper. I don't mean to be rude, just expressing my feelings.

We are only as good as our senses and tools depict. We once thought the earth was the center of the universe. It is often we use the phrase of God to explain a phenomenon that we can't explain yet. But the only absolute in science is that there is no absolute. I believe there is a God, but I don't believe we have the capacity to comprehend him. If the universe was created by the big bang there is no reason to not question that the big bang was created by God, why is it impossible for there to be a God and evolution. I think God is good, but religion (man made) is bad.

I dont understand what your question is...?

How can I believe there is no god because stuff exists? Because its my god given ability to.

Kind of a confusing question/post.

P.s., In response to "reeves297" answer, "Evolution" IS NOT the study of how life started nor is it claimed to be the truth of how life started, take your own advice and read up about it before you make a fool out of yourself again.

Why do you ask a question and then use it as a springboard to launch into a vomitorium of delusional drivel? In as much as I was not around to see how everything came into being (and neither were you),I say, "I don't know ..... YET!" To assume that some god, my less than intellectual ancestors made up, instantaneously farted the universe into being, is absurd

Is that a question of doubt? Or a statement of fact?

Or is it a scavenger hunt for new ideas?

Gee whiz?

Can a fast food restaurant operate by itself? Let me think about that and then I will invent a vending machine that is a fast food dispenser. Oh, my Gosh, It is a fast food restaurant on wheels. And, it has already been invented.

Gee whiz, can a suicide bomber operate by himself? That's crazy for anyone to even think about.

So wake up Muslim, A suicide bomber needs money from your cleric, and if you give your money to your cleric, then you are supporting Terrorism.

Stop writing us letters, and write your relatives letters to stop supporting terrorism.
