Littleso... there is a huge difference between a kitchen window and a patio door glass. The answer is simple No you cannot now fit a cat flap into your patio door glass, reason is simple toughened glass can only be cut when it is still hot,as part of the making procedure, any cat flaps in patio doors that anybody has seen will have been made into the glass when it was manufactured. Do not under any circumstance try and cut safety glass, you cant it will shatter.

Yes, they make some that are about 12 - 18 inches wide and the height of your door frame, so you just need to keep your sliding glass door open 12 - 18 inches and insert the cat flap unit into the frame.

All of the home improvement stores carry an insert you can buy of you have a sliding glass door. If it's a hinged door, you'll need to go talk to a glass shop.
Happy Holidays.

Get a big Framing Hammer and tap the glass in a squared off area. The glass in that section will fall off cleanly. Then mix up some epoxy and glue the flapper on.
Hope that helps

They make a section that you install in the opening and slide the door agaist that has a cat door built into it. If you have a hinged glass door you are out of luck unless you can replace the lower section.
There is also an automatic door opener for pets. (this also works well for burglars)

Is it tempered safety glass?
YES = Forget it!
NO = Not easy but possible! You will need a glass drill bit (diamond coated - spade tipped) Mark position using a template!
CAREFULLY AT SLOW SPEED drill hole at each corner point and one in the exact centre of the expected opening. Use a glass cutter and score a A STRAIGHT LINE from each corner hole to the centre hole AND from each hole to each adjacent hole. Imagine looking a the 5 dots on a dice and score to each hole.
Tap gently to crack the glass out.
DO it wrong and the glass is bin fodder!
I will accept NO RESPONSIBILITY for this being done...at all...none...got it!
IT is not easy!

With glass cutters, putty, and a LOT of difficulty. Probably cheaper to raplace the door with a wood one and go from there.

You could attach a small bell at cat height and train it to ring in the New Year for starters. Once it can do that you can be confidant it will inform you when it needs to enter your abode for nourishment and rest.
