Fear is a great obstacle to be conquered by knowledge, lack of knowledge; is the unknown to man. Man fears that which he knows not. I find emotions are a fetter to the soul which bounds it to the darkness.

Fear and anger are emotions that are the product of a mind that has NOT cultivated calmness and an awareness of REALITY. Once you have an understanding of the true nature of emotions you don't WANT to "get in touch with them" except as is needed to cultivate the understanding of what causes them to arise, and to learn how to tame them. Anger is worth nothing but suffering.

Fear is all about self preservation. We fear for our lives. We have fear of being ridiculed or put down. We fear the unknown, that may throw a wrench into our plans. If we could learn to NOT let fear run our lives, I think that many people would become alot more pleasant and easy going. Stress would fade away. I think God is more about this. In humility, we cannot fear.... for it is in humility that we look out to help others...putting them before ourselves, because we are no longer selfish.
Then again, it's so easy...

Partly, it's because our emotions do not necessarily reflect what is true. Fear, anger, sadness,,, can all be false alarms.
Better to balance emotion with reason, which is wisdom. Recognize emotion, but don't act on it until you have confirmation.
That doesn't mean that emotion has no place, simply that emotion, as reason, taken alone can lead you astray.

People are selfish as a general rule. I beleive that the failure to consider others sets people out of balance more than anything. You can sense the disharmony and stressful vibrations everywhere there are lots of humans. What is done to one, is done to all. Many people are just selfish and do not care about their brother and sister. The closer you come to love and truth, the more you align yourself and become in-tune.

Spidey sense is something we all have and a useful tool. Emotions, feelings and hunches are there for a reason and people should listen to them.

Fear is learned...created.
When we are tempted to fear, we see in God's Word in at least 63 verses the phrase " Fear Not ". Now I don't know about you, but that phrase sounds like a command to me. When I see in God's Word, that we are not to fear, then I act on His Word. After all, Jesus is Lord and what He says, I do.
There's a logical reason why Christians are to obey God's Word in times like these. People who don't know God and don't know anything about God think that fear is an acceptable response to an attack. God's Word tells us in 1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Christians are being made perfect in Love because as we are told in I John 4:8 and 4:16, " God is Love ". Now, look at verse 18 again, but replace the word "love" with "God". (paraphrasing)
There is no fear in God. God is perfect and casts out fear because fear torments. He that is fearful is not made perfect in God.
Now look at what Jesus tells us in Luke 4:18-19
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord ."
Those of us who have studied this scripture at all, recognize it as Jesus' declaration of his anointing. This is the "Christ" part of Jesus, the anointed one, the Messiah. If we set these scriptures together, we can see that part of the reason for His anointing would be for the purpose of casting out fear. People who are fearful have been made captives of fear. They are oppressed and Jesus delivers those who are oppressed.
