from a repair shop point of view I see as many cannondale mountain bikes in for repair as Trek/Gary Fisher, specialized, etc. that's due to the fact they all use the same components Shimano or Sram. Trek does seem to have to have a few more rear shock problems then most. plus a lot of their lower priced bikes are built overseas as are Specialized. Cannondale still builds all of their frames in the US but rumor has it that may change.

TREK, by a long shot. 15-20 years ago... maybe even 10 years ago, I would have agreed that Cannondale was better. But 7 years of working with USPS and now Discovery has improved the bikes significantly.

If you love it, then it's the best one made. I am personally fond of good hand built frames, like Ellsworth, Turner and Dean, but in reality the only thing that makes bikes different are the components anyway.

A Trek with full XT is the same as a Cannondale with full XT which is the same as a Jamis with full XT, etc. Don't concern yourself with opinions if you like the ride. But you probably know that.

You're lucky! Merry Christmas!!!!
We WISH for Cannondale, but have gotten mostly Specialized, and a Diamond Back, and a Trek.
