The back pain and numbness should be looked at by a good chiropractor. The other symptoms of depression, memory issues, depression can be as a result of closed head trauma. I recently listened to a PhD. in neuropsycology taking about what can happen to the brain in a car accident. The brain is like jello and during the impact of a crash the different layers of the brain can move at different speeds, and can actually slam against the sharp parts of the inside of the skull. The result of all this is damage to the nerves. Some people have memory issues, some people can lose their sense of smell, some people can have personality changes. It all depends on which part of the brain is affected. Some of these changes are permanent, and professionals help a person deal with this. This is real not made up, you should seek a professional that deals with these issues.

You sound like a carbon copy of me! My car accident was 19 months ago. I was rear ended and pushed into the truck in front of me. I was sandwiched in between two vehicles. My car was totaled and so was the vehicle that hit me. When they took me to the hospital, all I had was whiplash. At the time, I really didn't hurt in my back. Then about 2 weeks later, my lower back started to hurt and the pain went down my right hip and into my right leg. I went to a Neurosurgeon and he couldn't find anything wrong. He did many tests - CT Scan, MRI's, sent me to a pain management doctor and he did 3 epidural steriod injections, and found nothing. The pain was getting worse. I had the pain 24/7. The doctors had put me on several narcotics for the pain, and even they didn't help. Finally, they did a discogram. Boy, was that a painful tests!!! They found that I had a tear and a leak in my L4-5 and L5-S1. So, since I had all of the injections done, etc., and they didn't help and the pain was getting worse, the only option I had was to have surgery. So, I had back surgery, about 7 months after the accident. Then, they sent me straight from the hospital to an inpatient physical therapy place. I stayed there for 3 weeks. The back surgery (fusion) was a success, but I did have complications from the surgery. I have RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). Not many people or doctors know about this. It is where my legs, feet and ankles have swollen to about 5 times their normal size. I have to use a walker to get around, but the pain is unbearable with every step I take. It feels like my legs will burst open at any time. The pain is a 9 1/2 out of a 10 on the pain scale. Sometimes it goes over a 10. I have been in the hospital 4 times for the pain. I usually end up staying for about a week. They just can't get the pain under control. Now, I have been put on complete bed rest! I am not allowed to do anything, like drive a vehicle (I haven't driven in over a year)bend, walk, sit, raise my hands over my head, etc. I am like a prisoner in my own home. I have been put on 100% disability and have been told that I will never work outside of the home again. I am going to have a pain pump implant surgery done the 2nd week of January. Hopefully, they say I will have about 40% pain relief. Even with the pain pump, I will still be on narcotics - Methadone, Fentanyl patches, Lyrica, etc. This is the most horrible thing I could have ever imagined. So, if you have to end up having surgery, make sure it is the right thing to do. Make sure there are no other options. If there are, take them. This back surgery was he**. I am a single mom, raising 2 boys, with 1 in college and the other getting ready to graduate from high school and ready to go to college. Now, I have no income, except for Social Security Disability Income, which is not much. I am trying to find a home based business, but most of everything I see is a scam. Back to you - please check out all of your options and get second and third opinions. Hopefully, what you have is not as serious as what I had. Maybe you won't have to have any surgery, just some physical therapy. That would be great! It just sounds so much like what I had. God Bless You and Best of Luck to you!

You seem to have several medical issues as a result of your accident. The weight gain could be a thyroid problem.
The back pain and numbness in the leg is probably due to a compression of the sciatic nerve. I would recommend that you see a neurologist.

Have you had treatment for your back problems? If not, why? Auto insurance should cover your medical expenses. If it was the other person's fault, their insurance should cover it. If the insurance company tells you something different, do not believe them. They will do what it takes to avoid paying claims.
Now, the possibility from the accident could be related to your other problems. When you suffer a back injury, you could have damaged or interrupted the transmit ion of your neurological communication system. After-all, the spinal cord within the spinal column is the central neurological pathway. Specific nerves related to the thyroid could be pinched or damaged and causing your problems.
I suggest you seek out a chiropractor asap. He/she can evaluate the damage and correct it. Remember, it cannot nor will not be corrected over night. It will take some time and the longer you wait to repair, the longer it'll take to heal.

"Whiplash" can advise something from somewhat a stiff neck to severe long-status issues, so that's style of puzzling to assert quite. If he's had to have some days off paintings he could desire to be waiting to declare for the lack of ability of earnings. As for the repayment for the wear itself, I easily have consulted the judicial examine board regulations for you, which say as follows: Neck injuries (Minor) Minor delicate tissue and whiplash injuries etc the place indications are reasonable: (i) and an entire restoration occurs interior of approximately 2 years; £2,550 to £4,575 (ii) with an entire restoration between some weeks and a twelve months; £750 to £2,550 based on the records you have given, i could estimate which you would be staring at around £1500.
