no, for various reasons:

1st: you wrote "jump off a cliff" in english. Translation is nothing but trouble.

2nd: Any person of the abrahamic tradition (muslims, jews, christians) would know that suicide is prohibited and they will burn in hell for doing so.

3rd. This links up to the previous two reasons i listed: When people start following the particulars of their faith OVER the universals (the oneness of god is a universal, the particulars are open to interpretation, such as the issue of whether Abraham was to sacrifice Isaaq or Ishmael), they lose the point of their religion. whats the point of religion? monotheism? when you look at the particulars rather than the universals, you lose.

First, it would depend upon the context in which that were written. If it were an unequivocal commandment that was directed to all believers in Jesus Christ the Savior of the world, then yes I would. Every time I came across one.

Ooops! I'm not very religious, but I answered anyway.

My bible has been written for a couple thousand years now, and it does not tell me to do that...so the point is moot. Stupid questions deserve nothing less than a stupid answer.

How much do you trust your mum? How far will you follow daddy, your spouse, your best friend? If we will take chances by believing in a loved one, can't we take chances when believing in God? Or is it not believing IN Him, but just believing that He exists?

I will gladly run off that cliff...even if it looks to you like a running of the lemmings. I believe.

Well, it never would to begin with. Even if Jehovah had asked you, he would stop you before you did. Is just like with Abraham and Isaac. Jehovah asked him to kill his only son and he was willing to do it and Jehovah stopped him. It was just a test of faith.

I do not see how the bible could tell me to do that. it is not a wish book.

The bible, especially the old testament encourages murder and intolerance and risk. The new testament encourages blind faith and poverty. You can have it I don't want it.
