those lyrics are from Slayer's song "Cult". Personally, I FEEL it is the lack of religion in religous people that causes the bad. People have enough religion to hate, and not enough to love. For example, the issue over Jerusalem. Muslims and Jews claim its theirs for religous reasons, but neither one of them wants to adhere to the vitrues of their religions-virtues of justice for the stranger, the neighbor, and fool.

I agree. Any religion if you study and apply it's principles promotes concepts that raise us above barbaric and destructive actions.
"Treat others they way you want to be treated", "refrain from the used of force". These ideas are as old as religion itself.
Religion is not the cause, but the more we deteriorate as spiritual beings and believe we are nothing more than animals , that there is nothing more to life than the material, the wider the gap of understanding gets.
All religions have a responsibilty to face this fact and do something about it within their spheres. Otherwise they will continue to let themselves be used in a destructive way.
Religions have a responsibility to lead, to help, to spiritually lift and enhance.They are the only hope man has to pull himself out of the mud.
They better start soon. It's going to take a co-ordinated effort !

You are right.
It is NOT the true believers (ones willing to walk in obedience to Him) that are the main offenders. This lie about those who really follow God is from His enemy.
