I can think of many different directions, to some the answer is yes, to some the answer is no.

Do I feel sorry for Osama Bin Laden? No, I loathe him, he is worse than a terrorist because he convinces other weak minded people to be terrorists. I would have no remorse if he dies tomorrow.

Do I feel sorry for your typical television evangelist. No, I also loathe them.

Do I feel sorry for the typical "victim" of the television evangelist? Yes, their believe has led them to donate their hard earned money to a con man. I feel sorry for anyone who is taken by a con artist.

Do I feel sorry for the typical church goer? No, their believes and faith help them in this life and it makes them happier. This cannot be bad.

So I guess in one minutes of thought I come up with 3-no's and 1-Yes.

Yes, when I did not believe in God as an atheist I felt very sorry for them because they had to attend church services while I could go on a picnic or other pleasant worldly activities. But now after I found the truth, I felt sorry for people who only drink from "broken cistern", but they never tasted the "living water from the fountain of life."

Jeremiah 2:13
"My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

As I look back, now I realize that pleasures of the world only last for a moment, while the joy that is being offered by the Saviour of the world is everlasting.

John 4:13,14
13Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

After attending worldly parties people usually have hangovers.
But after feasting in the world of God, we can really feel the truth of this saying:
10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:10,11)

But of course, people who never tasted it will never know it:

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
(1 Corinthians 1:18)

In my own life I was raised Catholic. Due to the lack of supernatural evidence, (ie: no Catholic priest ever said anything about him or someone in The Church performing a miracle,) led to my becoming an atheist.

My own suicide attempt and being pulled out at the last minute God used to let me discover Himself. Today I am Born Again.

I am a living miracle.

I feel sorry for people who don't believe in God.

No, but I do get upset with those that utilize so-called religious doctrine in order to use and control people for personal and political gains... much more can be said regarding this topic, and I for one do firmly believe a Supreme being/beings exist as our creator/creators, however, I do not see any logic regarding what most gullible people absorb as "Gospel" thus in my opinion most if not all so-called religious organizations are in essence control by fear cults...

Yes definitely. It is such a distorted and empty promise. The words spirit and spirituality are thrown around like rice at a wedding. Church or temple are the last places to find it.

No, because they have a belief system that works for them. Who is to say that believing in "God" is wrong? Just because you may believe something different than them, doesn't mean that you're right or they are wrong.

No, not really. I don't believe in God, but I can see that a lot of people do, and for the vast majority of them, its a positive thing.

never ; the opposite ; I feel sorry for those that don't believe in God; it is his love that fills my heart when no one else is there; it is his love that guides me in all times; it is his love that comforts me; it is his love that protects me and I do mean protect;I am always amazed ( I shouldn't be) b/c the things that his does for me I would never have thought of to my amazement; Never underestimate God ; I place the problem in his hands and he has never failed me not in 50 years; faith, trust and love; are those things so terrible; it is sad to know that there are so many empty people out there; I pray that you someday might let God in and know the difference in your life that he can make- the only thing to fear is fear itself; perhaps you are wrong- Merry Christmas

I feel a bit sorry for conservative Christians-they're being conned by unscrupulous clerics and pseudo-scientists on issues such as creationism etc. and they are being fed "facts" that are really just a pack of lies.
