By some translations of the NT, in John 5:41 Jesus says "i do not accept praise from men". So either only women can worship Jesus, or he meant all mankind and noone should worship him.
Besides, in several places jesus says it is only by good or evil deeds that people are saved or damned. (OT: Psalm 62:12, etc., NT: Matt 16:27, John 5:29, James 2:14, etc.)

Go to the source of the "have-to" The only people who say you "have to" are the ones who happen to espouse a Faith System that teaches it. They cannot support the veracity of it with clear, unarguable, indisputable, incontrovertible "Proof" which means that this is a premise based on their particular opinion, which is an essential part of their "faith" That is why something is referred to as "Faith" because it defines a personal belief in something for which there IS no proof.
I could not even begin to imagine a Supreme Being of such "goodness" and "lovingness" and Compassion, and Understanding, etc. etc. who, having deliberately created human beings with very finite understanding, then turns around and condemns them for simply NOT having Infinite Knowledge.
Personally, I find so many inconsistencies and contradictions in the whole belief system called Christianity, that I simply dismiss most of it as UNbelievable.

First of all we don't worship Jesus, we worship God. Jesus did die for all of mankind, so we are saved from sin, BUT we have to give thanks, our lives, to God. I also have problems with the Christian hypocrisy stuff...that's where you listen and see too much of the church as a whole...the ppl in it. Christ/Jesus are not hypocritical. You have to choose to listen to God/Jesus, and not pay attention to ppl in the church. PPl, my self included tend to get religion and "Christian" confused. No one is perfect, and we don't all know the "right" christian way of life, we should know how we feel, and how God makes us feel. We get convictions on right from wrong. I finally stopped questioning the whole Christian/religion thing, and just live how I feel God would want me to. I pray, read my bible, go to church. I stopped looking at the other Christians and how they live, and what they say or think I should live, and just have a relationship with God, and pray for ppl. God bless!

You can't separate Jesus from the salvation He won for the whole world.
If you don't accept Him, then you are rejecting what He is and what He has done.
Rom 1:16-19
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
(from New International Version)

Well I'm not a Christian that I should know all the rites of Christians, but as a human being, I think that God never hopes to be worshipped. It is only the practice we have started ourselves. God does not need recognition. He gets his recognition by his good deeds. Thus, he becomes God! God is present in everybody's heart, from your heart to a terrorist's heart. But it is only when we bring out the God in us that we become great. However, Happy Christmas!

He did, according to Christians. Muslims, Jews, hinduists, Buddhists they all believe in different things. Another interesting fact is this....Most religions are connected. My personal opinion is that our higher power (whoever that may be) Started something here on earth (most probably in Israel) and that thing split into two things, which split into two more things, and so on and so forth creating all the different religions. Note though that all follow the same thread. Though I have a very deep and personal relationship with god this is why I disregard religion for the most part.

Wow, I never thought of it that way.
Well, I guess according to the Christian faith you have to worship Jesus because their faith centers around him. Well, him and God.
However, you're right. Jesus died for everyone, not just Christians. I guess people just don't want to accept things that they feel is a threat to their faith, thus the majority of the answers on here.

He did not teach neither His apostles to worship Him, Yahshua Messiah. He died for the sins of Mankind that whosoever shall believe in Him and accept Him as his savior, sacrificed for his sins, will be saved. He should not be worship, only YHWH Elohim should be worship and all praise are due to Him, to YHWH Elohim alone.

the only way to get to the father is through the belief in his son, the savior, the redeemer of sin; if you question, doubt it then you are not saved b/c you are not accepting the gift from God on faith; you are questioning God by questioning his gift of his son the savior; therefore you are putting yourself at or above God's level by thinking that you know better than him to acknowledge his son and the action of the God the father by sending him; so if you don't believe in Jesus , your faith (because you have none) will not be rewarded with eternal life and your sins will not be forgiven ; no one gets to the father except through the son.
