Christmas is no more than a money making scheme. First, Jesus wasn't even born on the 25th. He would have been born sometime in the spring when the sheperds were out with the herd. Christmas was started in Ancient Rome with the celebration of Winter Solstice.
It began on the 21st and ended on the 25th. At the same time, Christianity was starting to rise in power and Constantine, the emperor of Rome at the time saw that it would tear Rome apart, so he converted to it, as well as the people. So the church then made Winter Solstice in Christmas as a celebration. The Christmas tree tradition also started with ancient people. THey took the evergreen because it was the only living green tree in the winter and it symbolized life. And Santa Clause was just a way to get kids to be interested in Christmas. Can you imagine our economy without all the Christmas shopping?

Santa Claus is based upon St. Nick, who gave toys and goodies to people. His day is Dec. 8, traditionally a day to get crap in your stocking that you have hung by the chimney with care.
Santa is around for kids. Are you going to attack the easter bunny next?

And Christmas is a rip off of a pagan holiday anyway, so why do you even care?

I have had the same problem with the Santa Claus idea!!! It happened for me when my children were little and it's fun to tell them Santa is coming...to put out the toys in secret and see their delighted faces in the morning. BUT........you are correct.....we are lying to them.

I didn't want my children to think of me as a liar. So the first time they asked me I told them the truth. There is no person called Santa Claus who lives at the north pole and delivers presents to the entire world on Christmas Eve. HOWEVER, there are lots of people who give gifts in secret........Anyone who gives a gift in secret is a Santa Claus.....I am Santa Claus for my children!!!

They had no problem at all with this. I further explained to them that I told them the truth because I want them to trust me. And also they should listen to their own thoughts....there was a reason they "didn't believe"....it just didn't make sense...and they needed to learn to search out and test things that they are told.

God will never leave any of his children in ignorance when they are searching for truth. His promises are true....if you seek Him, you will find him!!!! Don't ever settle for what someone tells you....search it out....make sure it's Truth!!!

I have never taught my children that Santa is real. I am a Christian. We never had a "Santa Claus". Actually when my two daughters told other children that Santa was just a man dressed in an ugly red suit, Christian mothers came to my door, mad as an old wet hen, and chewed me out because my "kid" told their "kid" that Santa wasn't real. On many occasions, I have seen parents literally holding their child on "Santa's" lap while the child was screaming and wriggling trying to get down because they were afraid of this strange fat man with that weird hair hanging off his chin. Over the years they managed to brainwash the child that Santa was real. You tell me?

Some Christians do feel convicted that it is a lie. My parents never had us believing in Santa Claus, and if my husband and I ever had kids, we wouldn't tell them that lie either. On the other hand, other Christians don't see the harm of that "tradition" and consider it harmless. Why do you expect everybody to be enlightened in the same areas?

I suppose you also RUIN all the other childhood fiction for your kids. Snow White, Mickey Mouse, boy, you must be a real hoot at Disneyland! "Look kids, it's a woman in a costume! She's not a REAL princess!"

If youve read what a Christian is supposed to do, where did you miss the Judge not part?
