I care about you a lot, and that is why I have to do this now. I never thought I’d be writing these words to you. I’m sorry but I don’t feel the same way about you anymore. That is why I have to break up with you. I would like to still be good friends with you, if you would be okay with that.

- anything i should add or delete?

BREAK UP LETTER?! So distasteful. Why are you scared to do it face to face? Giving this person a letter will almost guarantee that you will not be friends any time down the line.

That sounds fine. It is to the point but not mean. It should be fine. If he feels like he needs more info he can always ask later.

IF YOU WOULD STILL LIKE TO BE FRIENDS WITH THIS PERSON, YOU REALLY SHOULD TELL THEN IN PERSON. TELLING THEM IN A LETTER IS GRADE SCHOOL STUFF. STAND UP AND BE A REAL LADY ABOUT IT.

You need to talk to him in person...a letter or a phone call is not good.

If you still care about him as a friend, please talk with him in person.
