i'm a male,14 in a month, and 5'5. i weigh 110 pounds (though i know that isn't a problem) do you think my height is short for my age? many of my friends are 5'4 - 5'8(8th grade)..i'm kinda worried i might be below-average.

considering my parents are 5'6 (dad) and 5'2 (mom) and my older brother is 5'6, what do you think my adult height would be? (i'm hoping for at LEAST 5'8 T_T)

I quit growing when I was 17. I hit 5'8.25, and that's what I've been ever since. (I'm 25) My mom is 5'7 and my dad is 6'0. I have a sister who is 5'11, a sister who is 5'7, and a brother who is 6'3.

As you can see, heights can range to be taller or shorter than your parents and siblings. Chances are that you'll be at the very least 5'6 but probably no taller than 5'10. You never know, though, you can always hit an unexpected growth spurt.

Eat your vegetables, and good luck!

Regardless of genetic stuff, it's really difficult to tell! For instance, I experienced a growth spurt after 20 years old when I started body building. It may have been absolutely nothing to do with genetics but with foods I was eating at the time- like nuts, Sterol Complex, Smilex, amino acids like Ornithine and Arginine, and so on! Without more factual scientific research and studies, this question is too difficult to answer reasonably. However, we have now mapped the entire DNA code so we have an idea what certain genes can do so we may be able to use this knowledge in the near future to make people taller or shorter for a fee! Just imagine that! I would like to buy a pill that makes me shorter today so my head does not bump into the ceiling wherever I walk. That's the future! But, today, if anyone says they can answer your question exactly, be sceptical, because there is no solid scientific evidence to prove that your genetics will indicate what height you will be or any guarantee that certain supplements will make you a certain height. In Statistics, there is something called correlations, which is not solid evidence, that may help to indicate what certain genetics or supplements may do based on groups of people with similar genetics or groups of people who take certain supplements who have done body building, but that does not guarantee that you will reach a certain height- more actual solid evidence and scientific research needs to be done!

I was very short in H.S. As a freshman I was 5' 1". By the time I was a sr. I was 5' 10", and I'm 5' 11", now. My mom was only 5' 1", but my dad is 6' 1". I think you're average now, but the fact that both your parents are relatively short, I think that's the biggest factor in determining the height that you'll reach. I would expect you to end up about the same height as your brother.

You're at an age where anything could happen. You might shoot up another 7 inches over the next few years, or you might be done growing altogether. Most likely, you've still got at least another few inches to go though. No matter what happens, don't get too stressed out over it though. You are what you are.

Ask your mom to look at your baby book to see how tall you were at you 2 year checkup. You take the inches, and double it. Then add two inches for a male. That is how tall you will be at the LEAST. You could be taller.

You're only 14, so you have about 7 more years of growing to do. Most likely, you will be as tall as your parents, but you could grow taller too. You're average height for your age.

I'm 4'11" and shorter than my mother, who is 5'2/5'3. I took after my grandmother, who is under 5'. :-)

You will be tall...trust me. My (male) cousin is a year older than me. All through elementary school I was taller than him. He got so worried because he stayed short. (I am 5ft 5.5in.). When he was 15 and a half years old, he finally grew! He is 6ft 2in. His mother is my height and his father 6ft. Some young boys just start growing later. Don't be discouraged.

Think you'll have around 5'6" to look forward to man. That's about how it goes. I'm about an inch taller than my dad if that helps. Also I do have a friend who is about a foot taller than his parents, ...but he also doesn't really look like his dad...

Not really. I'll be 28 in march and I'm also 5'5". I'm short for my age. You still have a chance.
