We do the traditional things like leaving out a drink, mincepie and a couple of carrots (for the reindeer.)

What I'm interested in is the different things that people from all over the world do, as well as this country.

We do the same thing----we leave out milk cookies, and carrots!
We also leave a note from santa also...and we sometimes put glitter on the lawn ''so the reindeer can see the house better''.................we do it for my little sister whos 5 and my little brother whos 7.
Merry Christmas!

ps. don't listen to missy

Dont think its a good idea to try and persuade them.If your children are inteligent enough to know otherwise why would you want to try to undermine them?Any way all father christmas does is turn up to your house clean you out of drinks, mincepies and carrots then doesn't leave you the presents on your list.If any other delivery man did that you would be straight onto headoffice to complain!

In the real Christian world I just wonder if all that goes with father Christmas is such a big issue as what is expected of him is to just dish out the goodies to the unfortunate in our society. All these lies about father Christmas should stop and just tell your children that father Christmas is not real, it's just a way of helping the unfortunate that this myth has stayed with us. The truth shall set you free and hopefully your children will begin to appreciate the art of giving and helping others.

I think it's fantastic that you have such special family traditions! We are having our first Christmas at home this year, and I can't wait till the kids go to sleep so I can bring out the gifts from Santa! I think both my kids know better, that there is no Santa, but it's fun for tradition's sake.

Father christmas is not a pagan thing....it's christian and a lie. Respect your children, present father xmas the same way you do with other fairy tales and encourage trust and truth in your home.

NEVER LIE TO YOUR CHILDREN SANTA AND ELVES AND SUCH ARE ALL LIES. CHRISTMAS IS NOT CHRISTAIN AT ALL ITS TOTALLY PAGAN AND FULL OF LIES I TOLD MY KIDS WHEN THEY ASKED AND WERE OLD ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS NO SANTA AND THAT CHRISTMAS WAS FULL OF LIES.. THE TRUTH IS THERE IS ONLY GOD AND ONLY HE IS REAL . YOU CAN SEE GOD IN THE LIFE HERE ON EARTH. THE TREES EVEN LIFT THERE HANDS IN PRAISE OF HIM.. JUST LOOK AROUND YOU ... DONT GET CAUGHT UP IN ALL THE LIES. DO SOME RESEARCH .. READ THE BIBLE GOD SAYS NOT TO DO AS THE PAGANS.. AND NOT TO WORSHIP HIM LIKE THE PAGANS WORSHIPED THERE GODS... CHRISTMAS IS PAGAN.. AND PLEASE WHAT EVER YOU NEVER LIE TO CHILDREN. THEY ARE JUST LITTLE PEOPLE.
