I think some people tend to critize what they do not understand. Granted there are those who criticize out of pure hatred too. I think we can all take the time to learn a little about other religions in order to understand it & to bring about more peace in our society. My religion is Christian but with a more Interfaith overtone. I was very curious as to what was taught in Q'uran. I found a group online that gives out free copies. I was expecting a small, perhaps paperback book. When I received it in the mail I was shocked. It was a beatufully hard bound large book. I am grateful to have it because now I can read it & try to understand the religion, not so I can convert or play debating games, but so I can understand more than my point of view, or the Christan point of view.
Not all Muslims are terrorists. Most live peaceful & full lives. Sure, we may all have different beliefs - Islam, Judaism, Christianity and everything in between. But before we can really point a finger or talk to the topic of another's religion, we should endeavour to understand it.
We tend to see what is on the news as a source of "knowledge" when actually it is often very one-sided. I think God is much bigger than 1 religion. I think that by keeping God in that tiny box, we miss out on the beauty of life & the experiences we could have if we only had a little faith & a lot of open-mindedness.

People seldom see the best in others or the faith of others.
Islamic zealots have hurt the religion and downgraded it in the eyes of many. I have spoken to people about the Qur'an and they absolutely refuse to read "a book of hate" I have heard the same thing about the Bible.
It is the law of my faith that all priest learn and prove three other faiths. They must do so to become ordained within the Temple Tianice.
I think it is a good law. It keeps our minds open to the beliefs of others. I have started my studies in Islam. Not to become Muslim , but for understanding. In all honesty I see a rehashing of the same faith. I have seen a few things that I harsh disagreements with. I did with the Bible and the Torah too.
Any faith that has anger in it even a little bit of anger, teaches anger. An angry god is not believable to me personally and is thoroughly against the faith of my heart.
As far as my studies go. No faith based on the one god truly teaches Tolerance and love and acceptance. All three teach intolerance and indeed teach hatred for all other followers of other faiths. It is truly sorrowful.
All of the tribes of earth have the right to live on the earth. We were not put here to kill one another and honestly should be learning from our collective pasts and paths to become what we were put here for. As custodians and care takers of the world we live on.
To bad religions have broken our peoples and made it easy and even godly to hate.

I am 100% certain that you won't listen to what I'm saying and that you'll take offense at this. But I'll try. Stop playing victim and blaming others. Take issue with the muslim extremists who are spreading the negative images of Islam. Every time one of them does something negative in the name of Islam, go to your mosque and get other muslims to openly protest them. Every time some dictator in the Middle East does something to restrict women's rights (e.g. not letting them drive, vote, etc.) in the name of Islam, get your fellow muslims to protest them. Change the face of Islam. Most people just want to play victim dynamic and put the responsibility onto others. I've seen it with Christians and I've seen it with Muslims. But I've been saying the same response over and over and over again to everyone who tries to play the victim but it NEVER EVER gets heeded.

I agree! However, Ignorance is bliss! If they knew better they would do better. I have a very different view about religion. I as a Christian believe Jesus is my savior and through him I will get into heaven. I also believe very strongly that there is one God, and many different people. And we all serve the same God, we just choose different ways in which to worship and practice our religion. And that is ok! As a Christian it is not my place to judge anyone else or agree or disagree with their preference of style of worship. My very best friend is Muslim, we discuss religion quite frequently, and agree to disagree. Who is to say who is right and who is wrong! Only God can make that determination. God bless****

I believe most people are criticizing the POLITICAL teachings of Islam. Especially Shiria Law.
There is little about the worship forms or Allah that is criticized.

Superstition and prejudice abound here on planet earth. When we read the Holy Quran we find that Muhammad extolled the Prophets of God. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Zoroaster and Jesus are given the highest praise. Muhammad also forbade offensive warfare which most Muslims are aware of and most Muslims closely observe that commandment. I am not a Muslim but I've read the Quran and find it to be highly supportive of the Jews and the Christians.
One problem the tribe has with Muhammad is that He broke a cherished belief of theirs. They thought that Muhammad said he would leave them in charge of the Arabs. When He didn't do that they turned on Him, joined up with His enemies (Abu Sufian et al) and attempted to kill Him. Shortly there after Muhammad moved the point of adoration from Jerusalem to Mecca. Had Muhammad not done that we would see that the Revelations of Moses, Jesus and Muhammad are all the same religion and progressive as well. Moses foretold Muhammad, Jesus foretold Muhammad. Daniel gives Muhammads date along with Jesus. Daniel gives the dates for two others who come after Muhammad as well.
So again, its prejudice and superstition, willingness to be led by the nose, that causes people to hate instead of to do what Almighty God, Allah, Yhvh, has commanded through the Prophets. Love thy Neighbor!!!
We are all made of the fabric, body and soul. We are all one people, all of one race on one planet. We are evolving and the ones who rule over us now are of the new Babylon. God has allowed them a time to rule because of our unbelief in His Prophets. The first Babylon ruled over the tribes for the same reason. Are we all Gods stiff necked people? We don't have to be. Investigate as though your hair were on fire. Find the truth before it is too late.
Avoid reading excerpts from the Holy Books that are taken out of context. Its easy to make others look bad but it is supremely difficult to find the unity intended by God.
