Brent, there's no question that Foreman ranks behind only Ali on anyone's top ten list.
When Foreman knocked out Moorer, at 45, he became the oldest BOXING champion of all time, not limited to only the heavyweight division. That accomplishment will probably never be repeated again in the sport.
The only reason that Ali ranks ahead of him is because Ali is the only man ever to have knocked Foreman out, and he did that when Foreman, at age 25, was more feared than Tyson was in his heyday, and he, Ali, was considered washed up at age 32.

1) Ali
2) Foreman
3) Holmes
4) Holyfield
5) Louis

I think this is a great question. No offense to Ali but he has been getting the most attention lately with all the questioning. Believe it or not I think the older Foreman would have given Ali a tougher fight than the young Foreman. The older Foreman had a great jab probably ranking right behind Holmes and Ali in their prime. It is hard to rank the top ten. In their primes Ali, Marciano, and Louis would be even, 4. Foreman, 5. Dempsey 6. Frazier, 7. Liston, 8. Patterson , 9. Tunney 10. Holmes. Tyson gets an honorable mention as does Norton..... To your main question a very valid arguement can be made for Foreman being number 1 all time. He had all the skills at varying parts of his careers. He basicly had two careers of skill level. He was a great puncher who got smarter as a boxer as he went on in his career.

No, Foreman is definitely NOT number 2 as far as boxing's best HWs are concerned. He barely makes the top ten list, if at all. You see, just because he beat Frazier twice (or actually DECIMATED Frazier twice) doesn't give Foreman bonus points. The first rule of boxing is this--just because fighter A beats fighter C and fighter C beats fighter B, doesn't mean fighter A can beat fighter B. The 1970s proves this. By claiming Foreman is number 2, you skipped over many more deserving and CAPABLE champions. My top ten list looks like this:

1. Rocky Marciano
2. Muhammad Ali
3. Joe Louis
4. Jack Johnson
5. Gene Tunney
6. Jack Dempsey
7. Ezzard Charles
8. Sonny Liston
and then Frazier and Foreman can squabble for 9 and 10.

George was good he had lots of acheivements my rankings are thus Marciano-Louis-Tunney-Dempsey-
Ali-Liston-Foreman-Frazier-
Patterson-
Holmes - Norton-
Tyson is only mentioned because he hit really hard but he has trouble brushing his teeth always did guess because he is as stupid as hell. If Tyson and his brain worked together he would have been number one no questions asked. But he gets only a mention from me in reality.

No..I wouldn't rank him second to Ali.
No one knew much about Foreman
until he fought Frazier..knocking him
down 7 times, it was amazing.......
He just about took off Norton's head.
Maybe one of the strongest punchers
in the game......But when he lost to Ali,
it just about killed him. He finally came
back strong, but left in 77.
He just wasn't the same. But the people
loved him.....

Ali
J. Louis
Marciano
Foreman
Frazier
Dempsey
Tyson
Holyfield
Archie Moore
Lennox Lewis
