Why is the media not allowed to cover the last flight home for America's fallen heros.

I would imagine because they can't be trusted to cover something so private and tragic in decent manner.
Personally, I would much prefer not to see the harangued faces of the bereaved than the cheap ratings-bonanza the media take on such an event.
If you're truly that interested in seeing a funeral- perhaps you should ring around the services to ask if you can attend and pay your respects.

Because it's private. Only a ghoul would want to stick his nose into something so personal. Does grief get you off? Do you really want to see some stupid bimbo reporter stick a microphone in a mother's face and ask her how she felt to lose her son? If it was my kid, and some reporter stuck his nose into it, I'd beat him within an inch of his life.
