There are two ways of saying you in French, in my example, the first will be the formal way and the second the informal/familiar way.

Comment allez-vous? / Comment vas-tu?
*this is the standard way of saying "How are you?"


Ça va? - This is like saying "How's it going?" (It litterally translates to "It goes?") It's more informal.
