My husband wants to take steroids while he is in Iraq and I want to talk him out of it. Can it cause heart attacks? When he gets back in March, we are going to try to get pregnant. Is that another reason why he shouldn't take steroids? Any advice would be great!

He thinks I want him to have a "beach bod" as he calls it, but I try to tell him I don't care if he has a six pack!

Singh...it is just a figure of speech. Like say if a couple tells their family that the woman is pregnant they usually say, "We're pregnant!" It sounds better than "I want to get pregnant" because that makes it sound like he doesn't want to!

Tell you husband it's a really bad idea! Especially if you are wanting to start a family. The listed side effects are liver tumors, jaundice, fluid retention, high blood pressure, SHRINKING OF THE TESTICLES, REDUCED SPERM COUNT, INFERTILITY, baldness, and developement of breasts! These are enough good reasons to not use steroids. You need to have a very serious talk with him.
For more information go to your search bar and type in "side effects of steroid use" and read through the listed sites.
Good Luck!

Steroids effect every single organ in the body, sometimes doing irreparable damage. They can cause heart attack, liver failure, renal failure and optical damage to mention a few.
You might want to remind him that the military isn't cool with roids unless they are prescribed by a doc.

well steroids can affect the sperm count. They cause major mood swings, people have been known to freak out while on them and get very violent. I believe they also affect the function of the penis, as in it will be limp. liver damage and a number more side effects.

They damage the vital body organs.
If you don't mind me asking what does it mean that 'we are going to try to get pregnant'. Are you both planning to become pregnant. If yes, tell me how your husband will do that. Just kidding, sorry if it hurted you but I had to point out, so that you be careful in future.

anabolic steroids, or medical steroids???
I assume you mean anbolic steroids for body building. BAD idea. Rage issues, strokes, and it is an illegal drug in the US. Deaths are often associated with long toerm use.

The kinds of steriods that build muscle are dangerous, in that they can damage the heart and liver. This can shorten life in the long run.
