I just made the *best* pie crust with my Cruisinart Food Processor! I am so proud of myself! My new food processor is now my favorite appliance -- right next to the Kitchen Aide mixer.

What's your favorite must have??

I LOVE my toaster/oven/breadmaker!

It was twice the price at Wal-Mart when I bought it 8 years ago but I had to have it! It is the best because it is the size of a toaster oven and makes a standard (for a bread maker) size loaf or bakes a full-size pie or toast 6 slices of toast! It is made by Toastmaster and I don't know what I am going to do if I need parts cause they don't make it anymore.

Best $180 I've ever spent!

I agree with you. I have had a Cuisinart Food Processor for about twenty five or more years, actually,I bought the first one that came out for residential use, you had to turn the handle for it to go on and off. Next is my Kitchen Aid mixer.
The most important thing for both is, that they must be out on the counter for instant use, or they won't be used.

We recently replaced our mini chopper with a KA 3 cup chopper. It is very handy. Still, my favorite may be the KA blender ... for soups. The mixer for bread dough;mom likes the hand mixer for potatoes. One may not need these items, as much as a blender: I can knead bread, chop veggies and whip up batter easy without electricity. Even the toaster is unnecessary. But only the blender can puree.

PS I think that the questioner meant small appliances.

I would have to say the microwave,, I know it sounds a little cheezy but ,, I'm not much of a cook, and it sure has come in handy.

Right Next To The Dishwasher

In all honesty I hardly ever use the dishwasher , I don't cook much, So I mainly wash dishes by hand ..

My ...um... oh...KITCHEN appliance?! Whew.

Just kidding...
My kitchen aid, followed closely by my food processor. When I think how years ago I did all that by hand...it's a wonder I EVER cooked!
