Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows something that I can do for severe nausea. I'm assuming that it's from my post nasal drip (I'm starting to get a sinus infection), but NOTHING that I try works. I've taken Malox, Pepto Bismol, Mylanta, Zantac, Pepcid, etc.... (not all at once though). Is there some like home remedy? Like I know for a sore throat you're supposed to drink water with honey and lemon, but I don't remember any for nausea. I just don't want to be feeling like this because I have parties to go to and stuff like. Thanks so much for any help! Happy holidays!

Thanks for the replies so far everyone. I have CHRONIC sinus infections (1 every 6 weeks), and I've been on antibiotics so much that I've become resistant to them. I have an Rx for Augmentin that I'm taking, just in case it has any effect at all. It's either the Augmentin or post nasal drip that's causing the nausea, but I guessed it was the nasal drip because I rarely get sick to my stomach from the antibiotics. :)

Go to the doctor and get an antibiotic if you're really getting a sinus infection. Are you on allergy medications? If not, try taking some Benadryl or Claritin (they're over the counter). Those will try up the post nasal drip and hopefully stop the nausea. Feel better soon!

If you're getting a sinus infection, you'll want to see a doctor and get an antibiotic before it gets too bad.

This is the time of year that people get the sniffles, but if your cheekbones are starting to hurt and your mucus is running toward green then you are on track for an infection and you'll want to stop it early. Being the day before christmas there's probably not anything magical you can do to get you to parties in the next 24 hours without this problem. You may just have to camp out this holiday, drink hot tea with honey, take it easy.

The best thing is Emetrol. If you have severe nausea, it could be food poisoning, vertigo, or something else. If what you have is contagious, you are risking infecting all your firends and family. Do them a favor and stay home.

home remedy, get some fresh ginger root and fresh lemons
cut up the ginger in quarter size thick slices and boil for 15 min
throw the lemons in the boiling water for a minute to release the oils from the peel for flavor and to soften them up for squeezing
squeeze the lemon juice into the pot after all done boiling, add sugar or honey and strain into mug, this might clear up your head as well as the nausea, and gets rid of the grumpys too

or try Dramamine or Gravol from the drugstore

Eating crackers helps with nausea, eat them even if you don't feel like it.

Why don't you take something to dry up the post nasal drip? Try some dayquil.
