I know what you mean.
It's based off a Roman holiday of sex and debauchery called Saturnalia.

The Pagan holiday, the winter solstice, was celebrated on December 21st, not December 25th. The church at the time incorporated a winter holiday so that those converting would still have a winter celebration. Since we don't know that actual day that Jesus was born, we celebrate Christmas as the day of His birth. Yes there are Pagan customs that have been adopted into the celebration - the Christmas tree is one; however, Martin Luther is often credited with bringing the tree into the celebration, using the evergreen as a symbol of ever lasting life. No, I don't celebrate the Pagan holiday, I celebrate the birth of my Lord.

You do realize that the only reason it is considered a pagan belief is because Christianity drove out all the old religious beliefs in it's quest to take over the world?

Good lord, how many times are you people going to bring this up? Who cares, it used to be pagan. Christians came along and changed it to suit their belief system. Kind of selfish, if you ask me, but it isn't the only thing they've Christ-ified. Other things include...rock music, rap music, video games, television programs...and the list goes on.
Whatever happened to secularity?

I know what I'm celebrating on Christmas when long ago a 'STAR' appeared in the sky, and over 200 prophesies were fulfilled in the birth of the Messiah who the world rejected then and does now. But it's not too late as long as you're alive you have a chance to seek the Truth.

I kniow that Christmas started to counter act the Pagan tradition of Solsitce. I know the date was chosen by a Pope, and a council. I know that the Christmas tree came from Germany, the Yule log a pagan tradition. Yep, I knew it.
Its only a traditional Holiday, its roots mean little to me, for it is what is in our hearts that should matter.
