Well, they tend to deify Mary (actually Miriam) above the Savior Himself, which is gross error. The fact that this continues to this day on such a large scale completely blows my mind. But then, religion has always hurt people by distorting or else by completely obscurring the truth concerning Jesus Christ (Yeshua HaMashiach).
I think that if they knew she was Jewish that might turn a lot of them off. But the images of her are terribly European and medieval. This is how the Bible has been distorted through the centuries - again by religion - and also by ignorance. The Hebraic-Jewishness of the Bible and all of its stories has been filtered through the pagan and intellectual views of the Roman/Greek perceptions and mindset (the basis of our modern western thought processes), and after that was Anglicized by the Europeans during the dark ages. The result is that Americans tend to think that we invented the Bible, and that it is supposed to be lined up with our way of thinking and living, rather than us being lined up with it.
God help us. We need Bible expositors and teachers who know what they are talking about, and it seems there are very few. Most of the teachers in the church today have a piece of the puzzle nailed down really good, but then they are completely unaware of the other pieces.
I believe that we really can't understand what the Bible is saying as long as we have it removed and isolated from the historical and ethnical context in which it was written. We as the Gentile church have tried to make it "all about us" when nothing could be further from the truth. It is primarily all about the relationship between God and His chosen people, Israel (the Jewish people). We as the Gentiles got pencilled into the script, and then start thinking it is all about us. Ridiculous. We are privileged to have a part in this story of redemption at all.
Short note to the Catholics praying to Mary: Praying to Mary is completely unscriptural - but HEY - don't let that stop you. Praying to dead people (rather than to God) is called necromancy. It's a sin. But again, don't let that stop you. Just do whatever your church tells you, even if it's completely wrong.
BTW - I love it when people give me the "thumbs-down" because that means the truth is striking the anvil of someone's heart. That's why I'm here.

Most Catholics do not worship Mary. Mary was Jewish in both faith and heritage before she accepted her Son - then she became a Christian Jew.

If you read closely and look at context not just in the bible but in other holy books you can see that Jesus told people that he is only a messenger of God and does not want to be worshipped...Mary was a Jew but probably after Jesus brang Christianity she converted..she gave birth to Jesus, i think thats enough to get to heaven...

When Jesus returns he will still be a Jew, buddy.
Only our catholic friends worship someone other than God. Our Apostles were Jews. Our faith is Jewish.
If you do not like the faith, then leave it or change. I dont want you to leave Jesus but you need to think about the faith, dude.
God bless you!

Christians are often unaware of the origins of their church. A lot of them are probably unaware that Jesus was Jewish, that he didn't worship himself, that the earliest Christians were a sect of the Jews and did not consider themselves "Christians" - a separate entity from Judaism - until the time of the Emperor Constantine.
Oh, and Jesus was a HEBREW... you know, JEWISH? Sorry, but you are 100% wrong that Jesus was not Jewish - ask your preacher. If he says he wasn't he is either lying or just plain wrong. Pick up a history of the early Christian church - pick up several - and you will see that you are wrong.

There are Jews known as Messianic Jews who do believe in Jesus. Even Paul says in Romans 11 that there would always be some Jews, such as himself and the other apostles, who would believe in Jesus.
The first Christians were Jews, remember. It wasn't until later that the gentiles took over the Christian church.

Catholics do not 'worship' anyone but the Father,Son, and Holy Spirit. The lord God in 3 forms.
HOWEVER, we do pray to others who have passed on before us to guide us in life. Mary the Mother of Jesus is one of those. As are the saints. Some of us even pray to deceased relatives as a means of communication however, not as worship.

no longer a notice. What we do say is the Lord is One. "hear Oh Israel, the Lord is God, the Lord is One." Devarim (Deuteronomy) 6:4. Disrespect of different's religions isn't area of ours, so which you will no longer discover undesirable issues approximately different's religions in our books. We do have activity in the single G-d. it is our concentration. as an occasion, we don't have faith in the gods or goddess you suggested, nor can we've faith in different gods such because of the fact the Hindu god Vishnu, his mom Ammavaru. And, we don't point out Vishnu or Ammavaru from now on than we point out Jesus or Mary. we've not any activity, appreciate, disrespect or in any different case in any respect. on the different hand, Muslims I understand point out Jesus and Mary, to declare the Christians are incorrect of their strategies.

I am a Catholic and I make it a point to pray the rosary daily which isn't an act of worship. Catholics consider Mary, as a mediator between Christ and His followers. Marians pray the rosary mostly to ask for her intercession especially to the dead in purgatory.

Bro, yes is a Jew dude;
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Matthew 2:2
And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
Matthew 27:11
God promises that David’s descendent or “seed” will succeed Him as king of Israel and that David’s throne will be established forever. This promise is seen in 2 Samuel 7:12-13, "I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.”
