Ok I am a 22yr old college student that still lives with her parents and doesn't drive yet(but will learn to drive at the college this spring yay!)

Anyway since I've been working sweat and stress throughout my semester, and Christmas break for me started the 13th. I was so tired so all I did was be lazy and sit around and do nothing but take care of my neice. When my mom tells me to do dishes or towels I occasionally do them. Then today my dad is being insensitive taking it out on my neice and me(whenever he has to do bookwork) he wouldn't let me eat just because I'm constipated and have lots of gas.

They both said that I can't go back to school because I said this is my vacation I need to relax.

So what is your suggestion? I'm tired of this harassment(It was worse my whole life) so should I move out get a place of my own and maybe move far away to pursue my dreams?

BE NICE PLEASE and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

YES! Get a job and get your own place! There are scholarships and schools will help you if you tell them your situation. You can even go to school on-line like me. I work full time during the day and am on-line every night for school. Just make sure the school that you apply to is fully accredited. Keiser just turned into a University, so I can go on and get my masters there too!
Hope this helps!
Try and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and Keep the Faith!! :)

you are 22 years old - you don't drive, you don't work - and the most you've achieved is to go to school. that is not enough of a reason to come home and expect to do nothing. your life has been easy, if schooling is pressure for you that it makes you so tired, you'll never make it in the real world. better re-evaluate yourself, if you want to become something in this world - it takes a lot of sweat and stress, much more than just going to school. people who work and raise children need vacations - and, you know what - most of them don't get them - they don't even have time to relax. so, if you think it's going to be easier to go out and get a place of your own, which YOU will entirely pay for and take care of, go ahead - but, i bet you find that it's not nearly as comfortable as living at home. what you are getting is not harassment - but, a father who wants you to grow up and face responsibilities. if you weren't so lazy and sat around so much you would have a lot less gas. this is not at all meant to be nasty, but let you see what other people, besides your dad, think of your behavior. good luck at school and Merry Christmas.

OK, I'll be nice. But you know what? A lot of women who work outside the home take a "vacation" this time of year & use it to prepare for Xmas. While you are on vacation, remember that your vacation is from school just as that working woman's vacation is from her daily job. It is not a vacation from normal life with its duties & responsibilities. Your failure to help your mom with daily chores, which she can't take a "vacation" from, is disrespectful of your mom & isn't really very nice of you. So try to make it up to your mom by helping her uncomplainably for the rest of your vacation from school.

Also re your getting your apt: Can you afford it? If your parents are helping you financially, I think you should do everything you can to cut your living costs while attending school. This time will pass soon enough & it won't be long before you are independent of your parents. So hold on & have a Merry Christmas.
