This is a tried and tested, very simple and natural, small cost way that REALLY WORKS. If you have tried all the prescription and over the counter and home treatments stuff which simply do not work, you will be skeptical about there being such a simple cure - but try it and you will find that you will not need to use anything else on your face ever again. It is possible to have a blemish free and really healthy skin, permanently rid of pimples, white heads, blackheads and all other kinds of skin problems. Using an organic oil - tea tree oil works really well, massage with quite a strong, vigorous motion (once a day - best at night as will make face flushed) You will find you can make it more vigorous as you progress. Skin is always shedding and renewing, the massaging friction hastens a spot and blemish free new skin to emerge. Initially, the skin has to adjust and if soreness or other reactions happen - the skin might expel poisons that need to be expelled - then stop and resume when you can. You have to find the pace that works for you - it's different for every person. Stick with it & in a week or so you will see an improvement and overtime you will have a completely spot free skin. You keep up a massage routine(not as vigorous) after that and it will stay that way. Many skin conditions are caused by use of harsh unsuitable skin cleaners and countless other products and treatments the skin has been subjected to so try to use mild, preferably natural or organic cleaners, etc.

I'd like to recommend two face washes - Biore (£4.99) and Simple Regulating Exfoliator Wash (about £3.99). These are really good and leave your skin really soft. The Simple one is especially good if you have sensitive skin. You can also get a moisturiser of the same product line which is non-greasy and good to wear just before you apply make-up. I tend to use the Simple products in the morning because they are gentler than the Biore, which I use before I go to bed. If you live near a Boots shop there is a deal with the Biore product at the moment and you save £1.25. There is also a product from The Body Shop called cucumber water which should soothe your face.
Some tips:
-Try not to use any greasy foundation or concealers as these can make your skin worse.
-Wash your face twice a day (morning and night)
-ALWAYS remove your make-up before bed, especially if you've been wearing mascara or eyeliner as it leaves dark patches under your eyes
-I wouldn't put any extra evening cream or toothpaste on your spots while you sleep, it's best to just let them dry themselves after washing your face.
-Drink plenty of water and eat well (healthy food!) - I wouldn't recommend not eating for a day as was suggested earlier, this is not good for your body, will not give you the nutrients your body needs and could worsen your spots!
-Try not to pick your spots, the germs and grease on your hands will be transferred to your face which will only make the problem worse. This could also leave scars if you continuously pick them.
-Don't use anything that badly stings your skin when you use it (unless its antibacterial stuff like TCP), as this could cause more irritation. Sometimes the best treatments are the simplest.
-Give your spots time to heal, they will improve!
Good luck and merry Christmas!

Hello,
Spots are caused by greece and dirt build up in your skin and also hormone changes can produce spots.
Heres some advice for getting rid and keeping them away.
1) DRINK plenty of water everyday. (This helps to clean
your body systems on the inside and out).
2) TRY NOT to wear too much heavy makeup.(This clogs
up your pores and prevents them from breathing).
3) Was your face and neck every night before bed with
a PH Balanced soap. Wash throughly. A good way to
open your pours properly for a more througher clean
is,
A) Hold a hot, wet flannel over your face for approx 5
minutes. The heat opens your pours.
B) Then wet your face and wash throughly.
C) Rince your face with warm water.
D) Hold a cold wet flannel over your face for approx 5
mintues afterwards then pat your face dry. This
closes your pours properly.
4) After washing apply and night cream made to clear up
spots. One that i know works is called NIGHTCLEAR.
5) In the morning, wash your face the same way as
above. You can apply CLEARERSIL which works
the same as nightclear but is for day time.
6) When applying makeup, moisterise your face with a
face cream first. This make removing makeup
easier.

You haven't really given alot of info on the spots but try blending oatmeal really fine and make a paste of it, put it on the spots every night when you go to bed. Oatmeal bleaches the skin lighter it will even remove a red wine spill so it really does work. Do this every night for about a month and you should see a big difference. If you want a quick cover up use a foundation like Revlon to cover them.

This is the current regime that I use and my spots have really cleared up in the last few days.
1. Use skin products that are right for your skin and are wash off rather than cream based or soap products (creams don't clen your skin enough and soaps are too harsh, so your skin dries out and produces more oil to compensate leading of course, to more spots). E.g I have combination skin (drier cheeks but greasier nose, forehead and chin), so I use the Bodyshop Seaweed range.
2. Use make up products that are water based or an non comodogenic (don't clog your pores).
3. Use concealer, esp witch hazel range concealer if I'm going out.
4. Use an exfoliator once a week to get rid of dirt and dead skin cells (don't use it more than twice a week. otherwise, it's too harsh and will make the problem worse).
5. Always take make up off before going to bed.
6. Never wash your face with your hands (they transfer more grease onto your skin), but use a face sponge or flannel instead and rinse off when finished.
7. Use a spot treatment stick (such as witch hazel) or apply a little bit of essential oils onto the spots, such as lavender/tea tree oil (These oils are the ONLY ones that you can apply straight onto your skin. if you want to use other oils, mix them with either baby oil/a base oil, such as Almond oil first) after washing your face (I wash mine twice a day). Again, contrary to what one answer suggests, I would NOT recommend applying these oils vigourously because what you would be doing then is stimulating the pores, thus encouraging them to produce more oils and making your problem worse.
8. Apply products such as Freederm or Ketsugo (Personally, i find Ketsugo better) to the greasy area of your face after you've put your other skin care products on (but before make up). These products don't get rid of existing spots, but they do clear up the parts of the skin where you normally get them, because they stop your skin from producing as much oil in those areas.
If none of this works, a final tip is to take zinc and/ or evening prmrose oil, as both balance your hormone levels and improve the condition of your skin. Also, as the others said, although greasy food & junk food doesn't CAUSE spots, it doesn't help your skin, so try to cut back on those if you can. Also, exercise generally boosts your circulation thereby also helping your skin to clear up.
By the way, I've tried using things such as toothpaste and TCP on my skin and although these types of products have dried my spots out and stung like crazy, none of them have actually got rid of any spots! I therefore wouldn't recommend using these prioducts, except as an emergency for a night out if nothing else is available.
Hope this helps!

Cleanse, tone and moisturise :-) Do it every morning and night and you'll notice the difference
Drink at least a litre of water a day, that will definitely help your skin
Eat more fresh vegetables and fruit
And use some toothpaste or aftershave on a big spot - helps dry it up and get rid of it quicker

Go to your doctors and see what they can do - you won't get a miracle cure, but they will be able to give you something that will make a difference in the long term. In the meantime, establish a good cleansing routine - products with witch hazel, and also tea tree are really good, and I can also recommend Fresh Pharmacy by Lush.

Cut out sweet and fatty foods. Drink plenty of pure water. Wash with pure unperfumed soap.
When I was younger, I fasted on Saturdays not eating anything at all until the evening. I very rarely had spots.
