Its possible, but my dog does it all the time and shes fine. It really depends on the type of dog. My dog is a collie so she is born for cold weather. Basically base it on:
1)how rainy it is
2)how cold it is
3)what kind of dog
4)thickness of your dog's fur

They won't get sick the same way we humans get sick however you should always dry your dog after they have been playing in the rain to make sure they don't catch a chill. That is where the problem arises and also if they have a weakened immune system for whatever reason. Never allow your dog to go outside right after a bath and always dry them very well when they come in from the wet.

Its not the cold or wet that makes animals or people sick. Its just that the viruses are spread easier through cold weather. I have had 6 dogs at once and they would be out in the rain playing for hours and they never get sick.

No, there are a lot of breeds that just love water. I provide a child's swimming pool for my dogs during the summer months and they play in it.

Leave him to play and enjoy watching him have fun.

No, dogs have a lot of fur and more insulation than humans, so they don't get sick as easily. i've never heard of a dog getting a cold.

i doubt it .. the only chance of your dog getting sick from playing in the rain is if it is really cold outside then mabey just mabey he could get hypothermia.. but if it would be safe for you to play in the rain, then its safe for your dog as well.

No they won't but if they are the kinds with barely any fur then yes, if your dog is the kind with a lot of fur then their coat will protect them from not getting sick!

No, they will get cleaner and then again maybe they will get muddier but at least they are having fun.
Our's play in snow storms and never get sick...
Let them be dogs, when they want to get out of it they will. Their natural instinct tells them when to.
