There is no objective proof, is there? People quote the bible as if it is the truth, when in fact the truth cannot be proven by the same vehicle that is being examined for the truth. It's like having a scientist validate his or her own experiment. God never appears to a group of people at the same time--the virgin mary shows up in chicken soup and on window stains, but that's because a religious person's Rorschach inkblot is going to be a religious icon.

Let me start by agreeing with you on this point. God is not really a "He". God is more complicated than that - but keep in mind what Paul the apostle said: "We see in part and so we phrophesy in part". Ask yourself this: Why is it that in Heaven we will not possess earthly bodies and neither will we get married? In other words, God's realm is not earthly. So, don't limit God to just what you can understand. Remember that you are smaller than God. So, he and she is good enough for us, but not God. We are ALL made in His image. How? We'll fully understand that when we see Him.
About the suffering on earth, let me say this: If we were living as the Bible encourages us to, there would be no poor people. But not enough of us share what we have and so poverty thrives. In addition, our leaders are corrupt and run inefficient resource-guzzling governments and so a lot of resources that would go towards helping others get lost within the corridors of power.
I can say from personal experience that I have helped alieviate poverty in a few communities in Africa. Now, if I, such an insignificant person, could make such a big difference, how about governments? There is a lot that can be done, but unfortunately, a lot of the people in power are just not using their opportunities to make a difference.
Lastly, to answer your question about whether God is good, my simple advice is this: Just ask older people who have gone through the sweetness and bitterness of life and see what they tell you. Experience is the source of wisdom. And don't just ask one person. Ask several older people and see what they tell you. They know -- because they have seen the hand of God in their lives -- and that's the best testimony.
Merry Christmas!!! Ho, Ho, Ho!!!

2. you have to use the Bible otherwise, how would you know about God.
3. well thats your problem, you blame God. Htis is God's, he snet us to live here and take care of it so why don't you get a jump start on those kids? huh.
4. and the Bible can't be proven?? WHAT SO YOUR TELLING ME THAT EVERYTHING THAT IS WRITTEN BU HUMANS CAN NOT BE PROVEN??? WOW I GUESS WE NEED TO RETHINK EVERYTHING NOW. HUH
5. AND ATHEISTS DON'T STRAT RELIGIOUS WARS CUZ THEY DON'T HAVE RELIGION, SURE THEY MIGHT BE GOOD PEOPLE BUT THEY ARE JUST NOT INFORMED. OR IF THEY AE THEY ARE INGNORANT TO THE FACT.
6. WWII WAS FOUGHT FOR POWER AND GREED OF THE GERMANS, NOT RELIGION.
7. LASTLY YOU YOURSELF JSUT TOOK A PIECE OF INFOMATION OUT OF THE BIBLE, WHICH YOU SAID COULD NOT BE PROVEN AND USED IT: YOU SAID THAT WARS A STARTED BY RELIGION, RIGHT, JSUT AS GOD SAID.

If you're going by the Bible, God is not portrayed as a particularly good being. I don't consider ethnic cleansing and sending bears to rip apart kids to be "good".
Apart from that, there isn't even a proper definition of what a god is, other than some kind of vague invisible superbeing. There is far more evidence that gods don't exist than there is for any particular god existing.

There is none good but God, you said it yourself disease, famine, inhumane acts etc. You know God exsists, he said he put that knowledge in all of us. You are suppressing it.God is a spirit.Did you or I make the sun rise this morning? Did we set down a plan and a mechanism to make our skin heal itself after a cut? Do we keep the ocean from flooding the land each day? Why does it ebb?Further, he watches over his word to perform it. Fairly, you have to find out about someone before you judge, acuse or condemn them. Finally, ask him to prove himself to you and he will.

Some people reject God because they can find no evidence for Him which satisfies both their hearts and minds simultaneously. Then there are others who accept God on the basis of emotional or irrational reasons which satisfy their hearts, but leave their minds unsure. These two groups of people have never found a satisfying answer to the question of their relationship with God. Then there are yet others who have found the correct path which God intended for us: to accept Him and His message to us using our minds first and foremost, and the heart follows easily and naturally as a consequence.
Instead of searching for the answer, there are also some people who chose to simply brush the question aside and ignore it unfortunately. This is the easy way out of what appears to be a very difficult, mysterious question which may seem to have no final solution. Most of these people are unaware of a very powerful message which completely and unequivocally establishes the correct path to God. This message squares with both the mind and the heart, and it has no equal since it comes to us straight from God Himself.
The message comes in the form of a book. In fact, God has given us several Books of guidance through the years, but each one was ultimately corrupted and changed by dishonest people. Each Book essentially contained the same fundamental message as the previous Books. Mankind was expected to guard these Books from harm, but unfortunately failed to live up to this expectation. Slowly but surely, each Book was edited and tampered with, destroying its authenticity. This is partly why God kept sending us more revelations.
However, almost 1400 years ago, God sent us another Book with the same basic message as the earlier ones, but with a small but very important difference. This time, God decreed that this Book would be the last Book sent down to us because God would protect it Himself. Regarding this Final Book, God said,
"Behold, it is We Ourselves who have bestowed from on high this reminder: and behold, it is We who shall truly guard it" [Chapter 15, verse 9]
Today, if we compare the 114 chapters in every copy of this Final Book with each other, we will find they match perfectly word for word - from the oldest copies made 1300-plus years ago to the ones printed just a few hours ago. No human hand has changed it.
The rational person has every right to be doubtful, of course, if he or she has never read this book. For such people, here is a small sample of what the Final Book contains. Suppose we wanted to ask God several questions about Him and about ourselves. Short of Him speaking to us directly (such a privilege has been granted to only one person out of all humanity), the Book has the best answers one can find. It is on the strength of these answers that an honest person may be struck with the conviction that the Final Book is from none other than God Almighty. Again, here is only a small part of the information one might find.

I have none.I do know we have wars, hate, starvation and sickness. What type of evidence do you have.
Just because you say something does not make it evidence. Do not use the bible. I want to hear some real evidence.Just like you say the bible was written by men, religions were started by men.You say atheists can be good people. Sorry I say no and in fact I say no way.

Jesus said: God is the only that is Good,
in so doing! he ultimately denied that he was God and that he was not perfect in being good. but !!! at the same time he had to fulfill the requirements of being a blameless unsinful sacrificial lamb in order to Legally qualify as the atonement and saviour of th eworld.
remember that god is good because he does not TEmpt anyone with evil. Evil exists because of the enemy of righteousness alone.
however with that said there is judgment and justice.
for everyone who has justice there is a punishment that is fixxed to the criminal and sinner that commits the crime. therefore in reincarnation Karma has a doctrinal basis for suffering.
One mans justice is another mans punishment

If we where to go by the Bible he was as good as they say. But my opinion is no man/woman are perfect;
I was brought up to believe in the Bible and I followed it the best I could.
So if the Bible said he had no flaws, then I believed it [when growing up]. Now I am not to sure, when I see how the world has turned out. It sucks....
